Sol Nessebar Palace

"We stayed at Sol Nessebar Palace for a week in late September and overall had a pleasant holiday. The hotel was very clean throughout and all of the staff we encountered were polite and hardworking. Our double sea view room was spacious, comfortable and cleaned daily to a good standard, with lovely views across the Black Sea. The pool areas were well maintained and there was an excellent range of activities and facilities for children, making it a great choice for families. There were always plenty of areas to relax around the resort. However, we do feel the hotel would benefit from having an adults-only outdoor area. One of our biggest disappointments was that all of the themed restaurants had already closed at the end of August, despite the resort still being very busy when we visited. This left only the main buffet restaurant serving food and at peak times it felt extremely crowded and under pressure. Unfortunately, during our stay, I and a couple of other guests suffered from gastroenteritis. While it's impossible to know the exact cause, it did make us wonder whether the buffet operation was struggling with the volume of guests being catered for. On a positive note, we used the local bus service to visit Old Nessebar, which cost less than €2 per person and was a convenient and inexpensive way to explore this beautiful historic town. Overall, Sol Nessebar Palace is a clean, family-friendly hotel with excellent facilities for children and hardworking staff. However, the closure of the speciality restaurants and the pressure on the main dining facilities meant the experience did not quite live up to expectations."

"We just got back from this hotel so wanted to review it. So we booked for a last minute trip away, first of the location is not near any restaurants or shops which is abit of a downer as you have to get a taxi or bus anywhere. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. I just think it needs a big update. I also think a fridge in the cupboard is a fire hazard as it kept on over heating. We came last week in September so everything was shutting for the season and which meant the staff were very rude and wanted to go home. I don’t think they like English people as you as a question and they look at you like you’re stupid. Now the food. Well do not expect 5 star like this hotel is listed as because it’s not. It’s the same foods every night and it’s all warmed up from the night before. The deserts were lovely tho. The cocktails were disgusting. From a machine and not even made infront of you which puts you off as you don’t know when it was last cleaned. Now the pool. It was absolutely freezing, my partner went on and couldn’t warm up for the rest of the day and kept on shivering also it states there’s a heated indoor pool and it’s not even heated it’s freezing cold? When we came we wanted to go on the slides and they weren’t even open the whole week we was there so that’s a downer on the reason why we booked this place, also the people on the snack bar near the pool was eating the food whilst making it. And looking at me funny when I just wanted some pizza and chips? Anyway I do not recommend this hotel as there is a lot of improvement which needs doing and the staff obviously need more training of how to be happy as it puts everyone in a mood."

"Shocking lack of service from a resort that claims to be 5 stars. Our stay at Sol Nessebar Palace Resort was completely ruined by the management's rigid policies and total lack of empathy for a child. My young daughter accidentally left her favorite toy behind in our room. While the hotel staff confirmed they found it, their handling of the situation was absolutely outrageous. We asked them to mail it back to us using a standard, affordable shipping method that cost around $30, which we explicitly offered to pay for. Instead, they flatly refused to drop it off or arrange basic shipping.Management insisted that they would only release the item if we hired a private courier to physically come to the property and pick it up. Because of their absolute refusal to assist with a simple mailing, this complicated courier method was going to cost us closer to $200.For a major resort that markets itself heavily to families, forcing a guest to jump through expensive hoops over a forgotten toy is incredibly petty. A true luxury establishment is defined by its service and helpfulness, but Sol Nessebar Palace cares absolutely nothing about hospitality once you check out."
