DIT Majestic Beach Resort

"The hotel is advertised as 4 star under the Platinum banner ( Tui ). My wife and I have stayed in quite a few 4 star and at times platinum hotels so essentially know what to expect and feel. General Feel around the hotel; · Very tired looking, dull and décor needing an urgent upgrade. · Tables with paint having rubbed off and seats with worn arm rest. · Thread bare / dirty carpets in corridors. · Lacking any atmosphere. Room; · Safe not easy to work or use. ( failed to use as a result ). · No walk in shower / Tiles loose on the wall ( reported at reception) · Room service generally poor and towels not replaced with new on at least two occasions ( reported at reception ). · One mirror in a rather odd location with no nearby power point ( wife not happy when doing her hair! ). Just a bad design with layout. · No gown / slippers. · Carpet was dirty in parts · Limited refreshments · Bath towels felt like tea towels ( very thin and small 1.2m x 0.7m approx. ). · Poor wifi speed ( testing revealed round 10MBS ). Constantly getting drop out whilst on my laptop. Restaurant; · Dress code ignored so why have one? Why make the effort? · Tables in poor state with worn paint work. Uncomfortable chairs. · Food generally served either under or over cooked. Not always warm. · Hygiene of food needs to be addressed ( flies ). · Dirty plates, cutlery and chipped glasses. · Selection of foods was somewhat limited especially half way through our week when the hotel was preparing to close for the winter on 5th October. · Long waits for beverages at either the bar or the machines to get a drink. · Rather bland and uninspired cuisine on most days. · Lack of bread and no crackers for the cheese. · Staff were generally competent but no smiles. · No evidence of recycling at all with use of plastic spoons and straws. · On our final day the milk catering urn would not turn off! Quite a sight and summed up our week! I paid more for this 4 star hotel and fully inclusive experience than I normally would. We have never travelled to Bulgaria before so decided to take the opportunity. I think we can safely say this will be the last trip to Bulgaria. To pay for a whole week and then see the service drop off quite significantly due to shutting down on the 5th October is unforgivable and as far as I am concerned, Tui have not delivered on this holiday whatsoever. With no rep to make our complaints to also unacceptable. In all honestly, I would have considered returning early. That was my thinking after one day! There really should be a warning regarding the level of service on offer when the hotel is due to close. Not fair on holiday makers. Awards on display at reception are very much outdated. The nearby area appeared run down and at best felt very tacky and cheap. I might be doing it a disservice but we have stayed at much better hotels and resorts having paid far less ( also taking into account the time of the year ). On this occasion we feel very badly let down especially by Tui who were essentially missing in action!"

"I traveled to Bulgaria with a friend . We both have mobility issues. I travel on a scooter and my friend in a motorised wheelchair. This hotel was an excellent choice for us as we had a room with accessable wet room. Yes the chair attached to wall didnt reach the fixed shower. However this was sorted immediately and a shower chair was provided for us . The room was narrow to negotiate getting in and out with wheelchair but we soon worked it out. I hired a really comfortable scooter from sunny beach mobility and the couple who own this business are English and lovely . Scooter hire cost 90 Euros for the week . Hotel is beautiful,clean and large, beautiful food at each meal. Different selections for everyone. We looked forward to the meals . Also the snack bar that provided burgers, pizza, chips salad and beautiful coffees. We would like to thank Sylvia in the pool bar for her assistance and keeping the red wine flowing. Also thankyou to the customer assistance who sort a mechanic when we had battery charging problems. He went out and bought new adapters which were dilivered to our room. Problem was solved thank you. The only thing I can find at fault is charging scooter only on Lobby or lower floor . This ment i had to walk unsteadly behind my mate holding her wheelchair to collect scooter. Otherwise a fantastic hotel helpful staff and would definitely return to this hotel. Thank you for a lovely holiday. Xxxx"

"Hotel is amazing really clean the double bedroom is really big shower really powerful which makes a change. I loved the towel art on our bed. Plenty of choice with food (I'm a fussy eater)and good choice of drinks. Ideal location for the beach.plenty of sunbeds not sure what it would be like in the height of the season. But we really enjoyed this hotel and the staff are really friendly. I would recommend doing the offload adventure with sissy and the team great day out."
