"From the moment we arrived at Ibiza Gran Hotel, the experience felt polished and effortless.
We had rented a car, which I genuinely recommend in Ibiza, as taxis can sometimes be difficult to get and having your own car gives you so much more freedom to explore the island. As soon as we arrived, the valet team took care of the car and one of the team members escorted us directly into the lobby.
The first impression is impressive. You are welcomed by a large wave-like sculpture, and the lobby itself feels very grand, with fountains on both sides, several reception desks and, facing them, the concierge desks, or as the hotel calls them, the “Guest Experience” desks.
We were welcomed by a very kind receptionist who offered us refreshing towels and lemonade, which was a lovely touch after arriving.
The design throughout the hotel is very art-focused, modern and interesting. Although the property is not new, it feels very fresh and well maintained, with a contemporary atmosphere throughout.
We had booked a standard “Suite”, which was extremely spacious. It consisted of a separate living room and bedroom, a large closet, a generous bathroom and a big balcony with a huge jacuzzi and outdoor sofa.
What impressed us immediately was the attention to the birthday we were celebrating. We had mentioned it to the hotel before arriving, and when we entered the suite we found a large cake, champagne, a handwritten note and even balloons waiting for us. It was beautifully done and made the arrival feel genuinely special.
The Guest Experience team deserves a special mention. They were extremely helpful even before our arrival and arranged practically everything for us, from restaurants to beach clubs, including last-minute requests. This is exactly where you feel the advantage of staying at one of Ibiza’s most exclusive hotels.
A very special mention to Marta from the Guest Experience team, who arranged everything for us from A to Z and was absolutely wonderful.
Another major advantage is how much you have within immediate reach of the hotel. Zuma, Cipriani, Casino de Ibiza, Novikov and La Gaia, the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant, are all right there. Pacha is literally facing the hotel, which is a huge perk.
The marina is also nearby, where you will find many of the luxury boutiques including Dior, Loro Piana, Bottega Veneta, Gucci and others.
The hotel amenities are equally impressive. There is a large family pool and a slightly smaller adults-only pool, which is also very pleasant.
The spa is another highlight. Complimentary access was included with our suite, and as we understood it, complimentary spa access is reserved for suite guests. The spa itself is huge and one of the best we have seen in a hotel, with several indoor pool experiences, rain showers, hammam, sauna and a relaxation room. It feels like a proper destination spa rather than simply a hotel facility.
There are also small touches around the outdoor pool that make a difference. From time to time, staff would walk around offering complimentary ice cream or other little treats to guests, which was a very nice gesture.
Housekeeping was another real highlight. Our room was kept spotless every day, and during turndown service each evening we would find a small goodnight note together with a little gift, such as gold eye patches, chocolate truffles or a cloth for cleaning sunglasses. We genuinely loved these thoughtful touches.
In our opinion, the hotel is located in one of the best areas of Ibiza. The Old Town is around a 10 to 15-minute walk away, Ushuaïa is roughly 9 minutes by car, Pacha is directly opposite, and much of what you may want to visit is close by.
One of the nicest extras is the hotel’s Bentley, which is available on a first-come, first-served basis for drop-offs within roughly 1 to 2 kilometres of the hotel. Even though we had our own car, we used it several times simply to be dropped off in the Old Town. It is a very elegant and enjoyable touch.
And now, the absolute star of our stay: the breakfast.
WOW.
This was genuinely one of the best hotel breakfasts we have experienced, not only because of the variety, but especially because of the quality.
There were multiple stations, including an egg station, a huge bread and pastry selection, and croissants from Pierre Hermé. There were several beautifully designed croissants in different flavours that looked almost like haute couture creations.
There was also a large selection of prepared toasts with ingredients such as smoked salmon, avocado and bresaola, and right nearby you could even find oysters and champagne.
The charcuterie station had an excellent selection, while a refrigerated section contained items such as anchovies, salmon and even some Wagyu preparations.
Another station featured beautifully presented small plates that honestly looked as though they had come straight from the Michelin-starred restaurant next door.
Then came the desserts, which were on another level entirely.
There were multiple beautifully presented cakes, desserts designed to look like real fruits, tiramisu, and one of the best vanilla cheesecakes we have tasted in a long time.
The fruit station was also extensive and, most importantly, the fruit itself was genuinely flavourful and high quality.
There was even a chef preparing crêpes live, while another chef created chocolate sculptures in animal shapes that were almost too beautiful to eat and definitely worth photographing.
On our last morning, the breakfast experience went even further, with live singing during breakfast and a waiter moving from table to table offering canapés. This was genuinely a first for us at a hotel breakfast and made an already exceptional experience feel even more special.
The breakfast alone says a lot about the level Ibiza Gran Hotel is aiming for.
Overall, Ibiza Gran Hotel delivered one of the most complete luxury hotel experiences we have had in Ibiza. The service, location, suite, amenities, spa, housekeeping, Guest Experience team and extraordinary breakfast all came together extremely well.
It feels exclusive without being stiff, modern without losing warmth, and luxurious in a way that is reflected not only in the design, but in the little details throughout the stay.
For us, Ibiza Gran Hotel is simply the finest hotel on the island."
