Apartamentos LIVVO Morromar

"Myself and the controller have just returned from a weeks break at the Livvo Morromar apartments in the resort of Playa Matagorda on Lazarote. Transfer & Flight The TUI flight out was delayed over 2 hours due to problems locating a flight crew. However, once located we were quickly boarded on the large Boeing 787. This is a wide bodied aircraft with three seats in the middle aisle. Thankfully the entertainment system had a large selection of films and Goodfellas was the order of the day. It wasn’t long before we were arriving at Aricife, our destination. The apartments are literally next door to the airport so the transfer was, as you,d expect, quick and took some 10 to 15 minutes. We were the 2nd drop after the much larger Hotel Beatrice just around the corner. As our flight out experienced a delay we arrived tired and grumpy around midnight. The check in was swift, simple and friendly and our room was only a short walk from the reception. First Impressions Our room (801) was spacious with a lovely large balcony overlooking the main pool. The furnishings in the room were adequate and we also had the luxury of a small kitchenette even though we were here on the all inclusive option. There was plenty of wardrobe space. Both the air conditioning and TV requires a remote which is obtained from reception for a 20€ deposit. There’s also a well hidden safe under the wardrobe available for a small fee. The complex itself is well laid out and has the ‘feel’ of a small village. There are two pools, the main one being next to the snack bar which is open from 10:30 am until 5:30 pm for food and until 6:30pm for drinks. There are two pools but only one snack bar so if you camp by the lower pool you have to walk up to the snack bar which is located by the larger upper pool. If you want to keep your room on it’s €25 per person which includes usage of the all inclusive until 5:00 pm. Food and meals To be fair the food is what you’d expect from a three star all inclusive, there’s a wide choice, even for a fussy eater. The salads are fresh and plentiful. Beers and wines are available at both lunch and evening meals whilst soft drinks are available at breakfast. The snack bar by the pool serves salads, hot dogs and sandwiches throughout the day. The ice cream fridge is always stocked up too. In essence you ain’t gonna go hungry. If you do get the munchies there’s a supermarket on site or if you want to save a few pennies the local Spar is a short walk to the beach. The all inclusive finishes at 11:00pm and the supermarket closes at the same time. Entertainment The boards in the hotel tell what’s on each night. I’d definitely look out for the Magician as that for me was the best act all week. What I would say is that the entertainment is geared towards families and kids and the animation team work their socks off to keep everyone happy. Through the day by the pool you play darts, archery and shuffle board. Things to do Hire a bike. You have to take advantage of the purpose built bike and walking paths that stretch all along the coast. We rode into Aricife a couple of times along the coastal path which is a great way of seeing the coast and beaches. It also takes you past the runway of the airport and within touching distance of the planes coming in. Along the way into Aricife you ride through some wonderful little villages such as Playa Honda, Playa Guacimeta and Playa de Concha. The Electric bikes are 20€ for the day and have to be back by 5:00pm. If taken back the next day it’s €25.Tip, choose one with a comfy saddle. Walk to Puerto del Carmen. It takes about an hour and a half to walk, but it’s well worth it. Lots to see along the way. Again if you’re not feeling energetic you can hire a bike or electric scooter as the bike and walk ways go all the way into Puerto del Carmen. Other useful info There’s a rear gate entrance to the complex by the lower pool . You’ll need your room access card to open and saves you walking around to the front of the complex. There are plenty of places to eat and drink in the main town. These are mainly around the shopping centre. There’s an Indian, Chinese, Japanese and many more to choose from. Drinks in town vary in a price a lot, particularly cocktails so do shop around. We also found that measures varied too, so shop around. The best we found was x 2 very nice Mojitos at €7.50 each. "Been back a few days now and can honestly say, we had the best time. We usually go to 5 stars but fancied a short 5 night break to end the holidays, being that we love matagorda and usually stay in the hotel next door to this, booking the morromar was a bit of a gamble for us. When we arrived, we were welcomed by the reception team and given our wristbands. As we were too early to check in, we left our bags in the luggage room, got changed and headed to the upper pool! To pur surprise at midday there were plenty of beds left! The hotel was clean, the food was much better than we expected. Although basic, it was cooled well, hot, tasty and my 2 fussy children found something every night. Our room was a Seaview 1 bed apartment with 2 beds in the living room. On entering we had a lovely bottle of wine and some water bottles which was a lovely touch! The room was spacious and the balcony huge! We regularly watched the planes come on across the water! The entertainment team were brilliant and we enjoyed the evening entertainment each night! Alex was lovely and always got us up on dancing and for photos with tapi! The location is amazing, close proximity to restaurants, the beach and the airport. No need to book transfers, grab a cab for like 12 euros! We met some lovely people! Would highly recommend."

"We had a truly wonderful time at livvo morromar. Our room was spacious and clean, the site was well maintained, the pool was clean, and the life guards were very good ( we watched one life guard help two children very swiftly during the foam party and were super impressed by there vigilance.) On top of the the animation team were so enthusiastic and energetic, with Alex and Acosta especially being such wonderful people to meet on holiday, both of them made our children time so special by being so personable and going out of there way to know each child as an individual, remembering things about them and truly making them happy to join in with activities and meet knew people. Overall we had a wonderful time here and have recommended it to friends and family. Only negatives are sometimes it’s hard to feed fussy children as they only have the usual staples fussy kids eat on occasional days. And when you order drinks each person makes them differently meaning you never get the same mix twice which is a bit annoying."
