"Our home base on Lanzarote for years. Within walking distance of the boulevard and beach (though via stairs or a steep road), good amenities such as a small fitness room, enough sunbeds, and a bar/terrace by the pool. Were now for the first time in Block B, by the smaller pool, in a renovated apartment. Deliciously quiet and a great bed."

"We stayed for 11 nights in September. Initially we had paid for a one bed apartment without aircon but due to unusually hot weather and an unexpected knee injury causing a swollen leg on the way out, we paid the next day to upgrade to an air-conditioned apartment in Block B and the bonus of a lift to save my knee problems. What fantastic reception staff who really enjoyed helping and nothing was too much trouble. They even provided me with a hospital type walking stick to use during my stay! When I asked could we have a firmer extra pillow again this was sorted within minutes. To book a taxi they just click their app and it arrived like magic a few minutes later! We have stayed in so many hotel chains across the world and especially in The Canaries and Spain and can honestly say this was a far superior experience than anywhere else, even those substantially more expensive. The apartment itself was modern and a really good size, with incredibly efficient personally controlled aircon. It had a large walk in shower, well equipped kitchen and excellent fridge freezer, with a big freezer that I stored ice for my knee injury. The balcony was big and we were lucky to have a pool view and sea glimpse. The bed was incredibly large and comfortable. We have a medium- firm Tempur mattress at home and this mattress was almost identical. The bedroom was large and lots of space for clothing and cases. A lovely added bonus was the ring neck doves and Parakeets that came to our balcony for nuts and biscuits. They would feed from your hand. The sparrows would come for all the bits they dropped and one was very thin and we named her Skeletor but during our stay she flourished into a normal weight which was lovely to see. I genuinely cried when we left because we named many of them and they all had their own personalities and the Parakeets came in pairs every morning and evening. The smaller pool was just a stones throw from our apartment and was spotlessly clean and plenty of beds even coming out at 11am- midday. In the second week there was a large Scottish contingency that put their towels down at about 7am but the first week everyone was polite and adhered to the rules of the property not to save beds but luckily there were still enough beds left . We were surprised to see a Life Guard there all day as it was definitely an adult only vibe. There were plenty of trees and shrubs around and it was so restful and relaxing. The pool was refreshing as it was 28-34c during our stay. The food in the restaurant was really cheap and really nicely cooked. I had a pork chop one day that was perfectly seasoned and cooked and the chicken in breadcrumbs was excellent too, as was BBQ night on Wednesdays. One of the servers didn't really speak any English and he was so funny chatting away to us in Spanish and thought it was hilarious when I asked for ketchup and mayonnaise. He was very hard working and helpful but he did amuse us somewhat. The other guy was also lovely. They had a big TV in there to watch the football etc. I managed all the steps or slopes down to the main seafront or port area with my bad leg, however as advertised I wouldn't recommend this place if you have limitations with mobility but unfortunately I was fine until my knee gave way at the airport, so we did our best. Would we return here, absolutely 100%, there wasn't one thing we didn't love about this property but we would only come again if we could pay an upgrade to guarantee a room in Block B with air conditioning. Well done HG Lomo Blanco your staff are amazing and have a clear mission to make their customers smile! Your upgraded apartments are fantastic and well worth the extra.
