Porto Bello Royal Resort And Spa

"We stayed at this hotel from 27th September to 6th October, 5 friends in all. We had previously visited the hotel in 2019. we arrived late and were advised that there would be sandwiches in the room which there weren't which we didn't mind as we were not hungry. The hotel is in a lovely location, the view of the sea other islands is stunning at night and during the day. The hotel is directly on a flight path and the planes do come into land quite low, we have seen some people complaining about this but it didn't bother us and you don't notice them after a while. We had booked double rooms with inland view and balcony or terrace, the rooms were ok but the balcony had a tree literally right outside hanging into the balcony and we couldn't see a thing. we decided to pay for an upgrade to a suite which was sorted out quickly and efficiently by the reception team for the next morning. We were very happy with our suite which was enormous with 2 bedrooms, 2 sets of patio doors, a huge balcony and a lovely view. it was nice and modern with a comfy bed and an amazing walk in shower. The hotel covers a large area and there are a lot of lovely grounds to walk around, one of our party suffers with MS but the guys in the golf buggies very kindly ferried him around during our stay. There is a huge choice of pools, it was quiet during our stay so we pretty much had a pool to ourselves outside our rooms all the time we were there. the pools were all clean, you could see the pool guys out early in the morning cleaning them every morning. they are saltwater pools but you don't notice it too much. As others have said they are cold but we found ok once you were in and welcome relief when it is hot. The beach is lovely but does get crowded very early. We saw people going down at 5:30 am to reserve beds. we also discovered that you can also have breakfast in the area which is the Greek restaurant, hardly anyone comes down which is lovely, probably due to the walk. the choice is a little more limited than the main restaurant but is lovely and peaceful away from the bustle of the main restaurant. The main restaurant is a buffet style restaurant, we found the food to be very good quality, they had a different theme every night, we loved the Asian and Mexican nights, we didn't get bored at all of the food , you have to reserve the specialty restaurants, Greek, Asian and Mexican; the Greek restaurant was very good. There is a snack bar which does burgers, hotdogs and chips, it is in the ice cream parlour, the hotdogs and burgers were not great but lovely chips for a snack and the ice cream was good too. The bars were all lovely, beach bar is a nice location but the cocktails in there were REALLY strong and for us undrinkable, we spent most of our time in the pool bar, the guys in there are great fun singing and dancing. We had our pre dinner drinks in the main bar by reception and the staff there were great too - great cocktails! We cannot comment on the entertainment as we didn't go, we either went out or sat for a drink after dinner. We had heard it wasn't great though. The staff were amazing, always happy and chatty. We booked taxis to take us into Kardamena, the hotel will book them for you and to get one back you can either go to the taxi rank or we found a very nice bar called the Crossroads, we had a few drinks there and they called a taxi for us. We had a fantastic stay and didn't experience a lot of the things others have complained about. Everyone has different opinions i guess. we will definitely be back. Thankyou for a great holiday Porto Bello!!"

"Savi from spa was excellence. Atmosphere during massage was very Good"

"Location: The location is ideal if you appreciate a short trip from the airport. The hotel is located directly in the flight path, so you can hear the planes – but that didn't bother us. We found the hotel's own beach, which is right outside the door, especially nice. Hotel grounds: The hotel grounds are very spacious and offer a large selection of room categories – from simple, somewhat older rooms to modern family rooms and luxurious suites. A large part of the rooms has been renovated. The lobby and reception, on the other hand, seem less modern and could also use a refresh. The area in front of the hotel and the hotel facade were unfortunately not particularly appealing. In some places, loose tiles were lying around, and the facade was weathered. The electric sliding doors did not work during our entire vacation. Unfortunately, the restrooms in the lobby were also not particularly nice. The urinals in the men's restrooms were largely broken and were not repaired either. The toilet seats were partially loose. This is not worthy of a 5-star hotel. The outdoor areas within the hotel grounds, on the other hand, are for the most part very nicely designed. The many swimming options in particular are a plus: There are 13 outdoor pools and one indoor pool. The pools were clean; some are filled with seawater. The beach is nice and generally offers enough free sun loungers and umbrellas. Near the kids' club on the beach, there is also a children's pool – convenient for families with small children. In the immediate vicinity is an aquapark that belongs to the hotel group. Unfortunately, admission still costs money; as hotel guests, we only received a 10% discount. We found that disappointing – especially because guests of the partner hotel located right next door have free admission. Food: The hotel offers several restaurants. The main restaurant serves food buffet-style; for the other restaurants, a reservation is required. We only made a reservation once during our stay and ate lunch at the "Islaos" on the beach. We particularly liked the cozy restaurant: The Greek buffet was very delicious. The food in the main restaurant was also good overall. There were rotating theme nights, for example Greek, Mexican, and Asian. However, after about a week, the dishes started to repeat. Additionally, there are several snack bars with finger food, ice cream, milkshakes, and salads. Only drinks are offered at the beach bar. These are generally served by the staff; there is no self-service. Animation: The animation team puts in a lot of effort, but seems a bit overwhelmed at times given the size of the resort and the manageable number of entertainers. Lilly from the kids' club was also very dedicated and always there for the children. Unfortunately, only English was spoken there. The kids' club is large and clean, but in rather poor condition: Games were partially incomplete and the air conditioning was broken. Every evening, a really nice, but quite loud, mini disco took place in the theatron. The evening program in the lobby repeated weekly. Sometimes events took place simultaneously in the lobby and in the theatron. Our room(s): Our first room was number 151. It was modernly furnished, but was located near the lobby and was therefore very loud. Our child was therefore unable to fall asleep until about 10:30 PM. After changing our room (room 209), we unfortunately had a room that had not yet been renovated, quite dated but quiet and nicely situated – right by the pool. However, there were initially some defects: The fan in the bathroom was very loud, and the bathroom door scraped against the floor. After our feedback to the hotel, the problems were resolved. The room cleaning was unfortunately rather superficial. Staff/Service: The staff was, with few exceptions, very nice and helpful. Most of the employees spoke primarily English. Especially in the service area, the Filipino staff we encountered were very friendly. At the bars, some local staff seemed a bit more reserved, but by no means unfriendly. Upon arrival, our luggage was taken care of. Luggage transport for our departure could also be organized through the reception. The staff at the reception were diligent and helpful. Overall: We had booked a best-price room and were very satisfied with it. The older furnishings did not bother us, as we spent most of our time outside. Due to the size of the resort, the paths are sometimes long. In return, there is a beautiful beach that we enjoyed very much. Overall, we had a nice vacation."
