"Where do I even start with this hotel. If I could give it a 0 I would. DO NOT COME HERE! Blue bay complaints
Reception 1:30 am 02/09/26- door left wide open door has obviously been booted in due to damage around door lock not on any other room on the floor.
Hair in shower- bobble in shower with hair left.
Patio door- broken stiff to open/close
Headboard- broken towel behind to stop any noise/ movement.
Reception 10:30am- reported same
Issues of they’ve been passed on from previous receptionist. Receptionist was rude. The receptionist was rude and completely disregarded all of our concerns. The receptionist wasn’t interested when we tried to show pictures of all the defects we had found with our room.
We explained that we were concerned for a safety reason to which he fobbed off and basically belittle us and said well does the door lock work in a very sarcastic way? We explained again that the door has clearly previously been booted open or took with a weapon or a crowbar of some sort due to the damage around the door lock that we have found we have expected the other room doors as we’ve been walking down the corridor to and from our room through through today and no other doors have this same damage it looks as though the door has been replaced however we’ve had multiple issues with people coming into our room unsolicited without our consent while all of our belongings are in here including valuable items such as money passports and other essential items that we have brought with us this has left us feeling very intimidated and feeling like we cannot progress any further with this issue because no one is taking the matter seriously the receptionist falls off and told us to come back in an hour as we asked to change rooms due to me having anxiety and my partner feeling easy about the room as well due to it being insecure and feeling as though people were able to enter our room which has been proven that this is true later on on this day. we have had 4 separate occasions where people have entered our room without our consent and without us knowing this or us being informed about the timeslot other than being in our room. The first occasion was a man who knocked on our door before we was getting lunch at approximately 12:10. He came in and said there was an issue reported with a lamp which we have not raised to reception as we have no issues with any lamps. He then proceeded to look through all of our drawers and then apologise and walk out to which we reported this to reception and they said he may have come to fix an issue with housekeeping to which we said well all he did was look for our drawers and leave so that is not fixing any of the issues we have reported. The second instance was housekeeping coming in and supposedly cleaning our room without our knowledge even though we had no sign on the door saying that it was okay for them to enter and clean our room.
We had strategic to left our room as a typical mess to see if anyone was entering our room while we was not there due to the paranoia of the door issue and other issues arising with the insecurity of the room. We had gone swimming for a couple of hours with my partner returning to the room for a few times to collect phones and sunglasses and other essential items to be used around the pool. We were swimming from approximate Mabel about one thirtyish to about 5:30 which is when we decided to return to our room. My partner noticed it first that the bed was made. Our suitcases had been moved along with other clothing items such as footwear which we had strategically put on top of our suitcase and the bed had been made strategically messy to see if anyone was entering the room without our consent this turned out to be true.And then we Showered and we’re indecent and in TOWELS. My partner repeatedly said DO NOT ENTER as we had a multiple knocks at the door to which they ignored this and unlocked the door whilst we were both in towels trying to get changed and stared at us for 5 minutes Due to this, we’re feeling a little uneasy amount of valuables held in our suitcase in the rooms in total, including our passports, money, et cetera.
Along with the safe that was included in our all-inclusive price not working the key that was supposedly meant to open the safe which was not a code key safe does not fit the lock and does not work correctly so we have nowhere to store valuables. Due to this we are feeling in the dark about leaving our stuff and not wanting to leave the room due to not knowing if I will be here upon return. This is very nerve racking for me as I suffer with anxiety and this has put my stress levels at an all-time high when I’m trying to relax on my holiday that I’ve worked hard to pay for and a little break away from the reality at home. This is taking a toll and our mental health and affecting our mood and the whole output on our holiday and it’s really making us not want to stay here due to the unsatisfactory service we have received in the past 24 hours we’ve been here we have reported over 10 issues on separate occasions throughout the day which I’ve just worsened overtime with people unconsensually entering our room. And for the third time we had been out to dinner. Around 7:15 pm we returned around 945 for my partner to charge his phone before going down to get him food as he would rather get food later on as he wasn’t hungry earlier in the day and couldn’t find food that suited his needs. Within these hour to 2 hour window, the room had been mopped however the mopping had been done without the mop being ringed out so the floor was like a puddle. My partner had slipped and fell on this and had a mark left on his shoulder where he’d hit the floor along with my brand-new bag that I bought specifically for this holiday being left or drenched in the bleach and chemicals that was used to clean the floor all wet. My bag is done and my partner has an expensive pair of sunglasses that was in that bag in the case the case was completely sudden with the water that had been spilled into my bag from the mopping and there was nothing we earlier in the day that was put into the bag that could’ve caused this dampness and T-shirt was in there as well that I took off before we went swimming which was very which was bone dry before swimming. I hadn’t put the T-shirt back on after swimming so there is no way that this could’ve been caused by us as the T-shirt stayed in my bag in the bag stayed dry the whole time it stayed away from the edge of the pool and stayed next to a sun lounger behind it where it was dry this whole times we also finish swimming at about 5 o’clock and we got in at about 9:45 at night so with the 44 hours nearly 5 hours difference this would mean it was impossible for it to be damp from anything that we had done earlier in the day for it to be as damp as it was. It was quite obvious that it had been absolutely drenched and was slowly drying through the two hours that we had left the room to the two hours return him. This is not something that we had done ourselves as we had had no water in the bag just to add onto this an issue before this we had just come back from swimming been in the shower and got out and was in our towels ready to get changed when we had a knock at the door my partner yelled out three times not to open the door as we are in towels and we are in the process of getting changed which was all visibly heard as we can hear people running up and down the corridor, so it’s quite obvious that a sound would’ve been heard from inside the room to the hallway. However, this person decided to unlock our door with their master key anyways despite being told not to enter the room by my partner leaving us feeling belittled and underpowered and undermined as when they open the door I was stood in a towel trying to unlock my suitcase to get changed, which two of the ladies who was outside the door to come into supposedly clean the room saw. We were in an indecent state and she’s also heightened my anxiety intentions given that anyone could unlock my room and walk at any time, especially when changing in the morning or after showering or even during showering. This has left me feeling an easy and height in my anxiety of the fact of my room being insecure and allowing strangers that we do not know and do not want in our room to enter without our knowledge and without our consent.
After reporting this to reception they said that they were just following the housekeeping rules however they did not inform us other time or when they would be visiting. This has left us feeling confused and feeling left out of the picture as it is our room and we shouldn’t be forced out of it or forced to feel embarrassed swimmer in a indecent way in our own room as it should be safe and a place where people don’t have access to without our knowledge. Due to this we do not feel safe staying in this hotel due to the unfriendliness and unhelpfulness of the staff they do not take complaints seriously and disregard us just because we are young they feel like they can intimidate us and push us around. Since making one complaint we’ve had four people entering area at separate times after displaying two reception multiple times that we do not want people in our room without our consent knowledge this is left us feeling uneasy. I’ll let us feel that we cannot trust the staff to respect our wishes with the room that we are staying in that we have paid for.
Another issue that I’d also like to report which happened today as well the safe in which is included in our all-inclusive package does not work it is not key code and we have been given a toolbox like key to open this the key however does not work and does not turn so we cannot open the safe leaving us wondering where we can leave our valuables. We are too anxious to leave them in the room and feel like this is ruining our holiday as we dread to leave in the room and dreading that on our return, our stuff will all be gone.
After requesting a new room if possible at the front desk as we do not feel safe in this one the man rudely flagged us off and said we will they will call our room in an hour however we was not waiting in our room in an hour at this point, it was already 11 o’clock and we was already wasting the day. We did not want to waste any more time being left in the room. We did not feel safe in and that was unclear on hygienic. We went downstairs and had a drink as breakfast time was over as we had missed it due to the stress being caused by the front desk in our unresolved issues due to this me and my partner were left hunger not eating for 24 hours as the staff was sending us back-and-forth between our room and reception as it was not giving us helpful answers and leaving us in the dark on where to go from here the only result I had was to message a Jet2 rep via the WhatsApp free number to the UK and get in touch there as the hotel was not helping with any further the left is in the dark with many questions to be answered and gave us the most unhelpful and rude answers every time we went to speak to the front desk about a new problem occurring they completely followed us off and said other people would come and fix it however this did not happen. We’ve also found more issues with our bedsheets which have pink stains on as well as pillows that also had pink stains on which we have recorded the pillowcases have been changed over the bedding has pink stains on that unidentifiable what we do not know what are from. The cleanliness of this hotel is absolutely disgusting. I don’t know how this hotel can call itself. A four star resort when they do not take customer complaint seriously and look after customers in the customer care department. They also do not clean their rooms properly and thoroughly and inspect every room to make sure no rooms are getting stained sheets or pillowcases. The hotel is uncleanly for keeping sheets that have been previously stained as they should be binned and replaced with new ones make each other that the hotel should keep up to spotless standards which it should be given as they call themselves a “4 star resort” . They call themselves a four star resort. At this point we don’t even want a room changing this hotel we would rather be moved to a separate hotel with better hygiene rating and better stuff that are actually helpful. The staff here have made us feel very small and feeling intimidated as a young couple on our very first holiday together abroad this has not given us any joy and our first holiday together should be very enjoyable however given the circumstances we have been put to not by choice this has given the opposite effect. We are now very anxious and this is only Day one into the 10 days we have got booked here.
To another issue the key card that we was given the night before not even 24 hours earlier the silver keychain that was on it that collects the keys together in a loop had broken off given the card for the lighting the key for the door and the key for the safe separately we took this to reception and they give us a new one however this is very poor quality and this should not be happening.
With our concern with the air-conditioning which hasn’t been previously mentioned as it is something we have only just realised it’s something that we cannot turn off the remote control for the air-conditioning does not work and the air-conditioning has been left on.
This is making me and my partner feeling unwell however there is nothing we can do about it. The batteries were previously working yesterday night when the air-conditioning was altered by my partner however the remote is now not working despite the battery is being taken out of the remote and put back in it is not working and we are stuck with the Aircon constantly on this is making us unwell.
My partner was very cold last night due to the Aircon being left on and didn’t feel like the cleanliness of the sheets was enough to get into them so this resulted in my partner sleeping under a beach towel using it as a quilt as the bed was absolutely filthy.
I’ve previously stayed in very scummy places even in the UK however this tops it all.
My partner slipped on the mopped floor when they’d done this in our room with the do not disturb sign on the door and banged his shoulder!!!
