"What we loved…
The staff and service
Every member of staff we encountered was friendly, welcoming and helpful. A special mention to Magdalena on reception and Tomasco, who both made our stay particularly lovely. The staff really are a credit to the resort.
The food
We really enjoyed the food throughout our stay. There is a good selection, particularly if you enjoy seafood for your main meals.
Mealtimes and facilities
The timings are convenient and give you plenty of flexibility throughout the day. Breakfast is served from 7:30–10:30am, the bar opens at 10:30am, lunch is available until 2:30pm, and the evening meal area is open from 7:30–10pm. The bar remains open until 11pm. (October timings at least)
The location
Without a doubt, this is the resort’s biggest selling point. Being surrounded by both the sea and the forest makes it incredibly beautiful and peaceful. The setting feels secluded, and the general atmosphere is wonderfully quiet. We couldn’t hear music or noise from other guests in our room, which made it feel like a proper escape from everyday life. You also have a private beach which is perfect. There is literally no need to go to any other beach as it is soft sand & incredibly clear water with access points for swimming / snorkelling.
The rooms and balconies
Most rooms have balconies, which are spacious and particularly useful for drying swimwear and clothing. The resort is spread across several buildings, and being shown to your room on a golf buggy is a fun touch!
The spa and treatments
We’ve had some lovely spa treatments, including the full-body Relax massage, which we would recommend. Visiting in October has been especially peaceful, and the spa feels wonderfully calm and private. You can even book the entire spa for yourselves, which is a fantastic option for a more exclusive experience.
Activities
There are various ways to enjoy the resort, including pedal boats on the sea, tennis courts and the spa facilities. There is a good choice if you want to spend your time relaxing or doing something a little more active. You can walk around the whole hotel, sit on the grassy area, sit by the beach, by the pool, in the reception, there is also a gym (we didn’t use it but saw others in there) and a conference area.
Convenience and additional services
It’s useful to have the option of either paying for things as you go or charging expenses to your room, including spa treatments, activities, food and laundry. The laundry service is expensive, but the quality is excellent. Our clothes were washed, ironed, folded or hung up, and returned to our room the following day.
What could be improved…(based only on our experience)
Air conditioning
The lowest available air-conditioning setting is 21°C, which may not be cool enough for everyone. We also experienced a leak from the air-conditioning unit twice in room 114, which ultimately meant we had to move rooms.
Transport and excursions
Transport links are limited, and there don’t appear to be many excursions offering hotel pick-up unless you hire a car. Taxis can be expensive, so exploring the surrounding area independently may require some additional planning and budgeting. The reception are great at connecting you with car rentals or bike rentals (both scooters and pedal bikes). Close by though there is a diving centre for trips, and there are also a couple of archeological sites to visit.
Sun loungers
The sun loungers could be more comfortable. Adding cushions would make a real difference, particularly for guests wanting to spend longer relaxing by the sea or pool.
Housekeeping
As the resort is spread across several buildings, room cleaning can sometimes take a while during the day. This may have been partly due to it being the end of the season and potentially reduced staffing, but it’s worth bearing in mind if you prefer your room to be serviced early and to be in and out at any point.
Overall
We have really loved our stay, particularly because of the beautiful natural surroundings, peaceful atmosphere, excellent staff and lovely spa treatments. The resort is ideal if you’re looking to switch off, relax and enjoy being surrounded by nature.
The main things to consider before booking are the limited transport options, the cost of taxis and some of the smaller room and comfort issues. However, for a peaceful escape in a stunning setting, there is a lot to love here. We stayed for two weeks due to it being our honeymoon and in our second week we upgraded to the junior suite with a whirlpool bath, we didn’t know that was an option to begin with, hence the move halfway through (encouraged by the air con leak in our original room). The junior suite is literally two ordinary rooms put together (massive) with two tv’s a sofa two balconies either side and a shower and jacuzzi bath."
