Adriatic Beach

"Enjoyed a lovely 2 week, 'All Inclusive' holiday to Croatia for the 1st time. We would normally book flights and own accommodation but thought we'd give a Tui Blue experience a try. Although we had a great time on the whole, we came to the conclusion a Tui package deal isn't for us going forward. On the whole we had a fantastic holiday, feel very rested and ready for a return home to normal life and work! Croatia is a beautiful country, steeped in history and the people are very friendly. Reception staff are plentiful and always ready to help. The hotel is very nice and the en-suite bedroom had everything you could need. Lots of storage, linen and towels changed daily ( despite us abiding by the sign to reduce laundry for the eco ). There is a safe, hairdryer, tea/coffee, fridge and tv. Plenty of socket points and a phenomenal view of the beach, nearby coastal villages and islands and the mountains as a backdrop, with a pretty church next door to the hotel. There are water stations by the lift on each floor, where you can fill up you water bottle whenever needed. There are lifts to each floor but it's quicker to use the stairs ( of which there are many at the resort). The cafe is open until 6, then the bar opens. Very friendly staff ( more about the bar later ), however the patio area is large and well furnished for many guests. Entertainment is usually outside ( again more on this later. ) The restaurant is lovely, well laid out with lots of choice at each sitting. Very attentive, friendly staff. Plenty of space to choose where to sit, either inside or out. There is another restaurant " The Culinarium" but this has to be booked and paid for separately and is only open certain evenings. There is a very small gym free to guests, a spa ( book and pay for separately), 2 x little shops and a games room ( 2 x pool tables, table football , board games and books ). The pool area is lovely, well laid out and has plenty of sunbeds to choose from. The pool itself is freezing ( in September anyway ), we usually like to swim but we only ventured in the pool once. There is a jacuzzi, also cold and a small bar area ( mainly used by the smokers on holiday ). There is an aquafit class daily, which was popular. The beach area belonging to the hotel is small and pebbly ( typical of a Croatian beach ) there are sunbeds and parasols but these have to be paid for separately costing 8€ per day. There are also Balibeds and a Padel Court which again, have to be paid for separately. Although the hotel was very nice and we enjoyed our stay, the evening entertainment was lacking, especially in the 2nd week. The acts that did perform were the same most nights and on the outside terrace, which was a bit chilly on an evening. There was ample room in the bar area indoors, however the seating arrangement was a bit odd and all the tables in the centre of the room seemed to be pushed to the side, in rows all facing the same way. There was a great expanse of 'nothingness' where more tables could have been. The 'quiz' night was bizarre and again all the tables were placed in a row in the lobby area outside of the shops, in front of a tv. The quiz was interactive and a QR code had to be scanned! Although the staff were all lovely, unless you specifically asked about something, information would be lacking and interaction was minimal. We turned up to do the quiz, not knowing it was interactive using a QR code. The Tui rep literally just switched on the tv! We were told all information about events etc could be found on the Tui Blue app which we had to download! Most events around the hotel had to be paid for separately. We certainly don't think guests should have to pay extra for the beach area! David, one of the reps was very helpful when booking excursions, which were all very good and worth doing! The Tui guides were excellent! All in all a great holiday, but we expected a bit more personal service. Even the staff at the airport just sent us off on our own to find the bus to the hotel! Due to this lack of interaction, we're planning our own trips in future, cut out the middle man."

"The views are amazing- not hard when you’re in Croatia. Hotel- be warned that if you have walking difficulties there’s a lot of steps up and down from the beach. The room is adequate. Carpets on bottom floor need deep cleaning. Generally the place is clean. Spa nice but expensive. All inclusive drinks are terrible. The wine’s awful and most cocktails are already made in a jug-. Beers okay. The buffet is very similar per night. Staff very nice. However felt invisible when we stood next to poker table to play and weren’t even acknowledged so just left. This place is in the middle of nowhere. You can get a cheaper bus to places but ask at reception as Tui will push their own excursions for a premium. Shops in resort are a total rip off- avoid!! There is a supermarket not far. Padel good. Beach is just pebbles and large stones. You will need special shoes or will be in agony. The sea is crystal clear and beautiful. Overall for a Tui Blue I expected better. This place had rave reviews and is nice enough but expect in the height of season will be packed with not enough layers etc. Love Croatia but will not return to this hotel."

"Had a wonderful relaxing week, staff were all friendly and most helpful. Views were amazing and the sea is crystal clear."
