"We had such an amazing stay here! This is the kind of hotel that you don't really need to leave. And this was our first (and defo not the last) adults only hotel.
The staff were super friendly at all times.
The hotel reception smelt amazing! The red chairs were a random touch that we didn't know we needed! And there is always water in reception available.
The rooms were very clean. We didn't pay the extra for a pool view and we were worried because of reviews we had seen, but we had a side view, I guess, which was another apartment complex plus some lush greenery in the background. It was still warm and peaceful to sit out on the balcony at night even into the early hours. I think even if we had a view of the car park, it would have been fine because it looked fine. We were lucky to be staying there while there was a funfair right outside the front of the hotel so that was fun to sit and watch at night. The rooms have great soundproofing, so it was perfect for me as a light sleeper (maybe it was the hotel cocktails who knows?!)
Also loved how the balconies don't really allow you to see who's next to you unless you literally peer over the balcony.
The terrace above the pool is super idyllic. Perfect for relaxing, eating lunch by yourself, reading, doing absolutely nothing. It's just such an amazing setting!
There are three outdoor pools: the main one with varying depths (this is where we spent the most time and where the water activities are), one very deep one great for swimming lengths and another one great for anyone who just wants to watch from the side-lines. There were some loose tiles in the bottom of the main one so just be careful of those but other than that, it was great. We loved how chill it was around the pool. I think there was music playing but very faintly in the background which I found perfect for reading with minimal distractions. The only time there was loud music was during activities but it wasn't for long.
We also liked that even though it is an adults only hotel, and the pool area was quiet, it wasn't super serious. You could have a chat, have a little laugh but no one being over the top or disrespectful. I think on the occasion that happened (someone was playing loud music around the pool area), that was nipped in the bud real quick.
We actually managed to get the same sunloungers everytime and we didn't go to the pool everyday. So this isn't one that you necessarily need to rush to reserve. You also get towels for the pool as often as you want. You pay an initial deposit for the towel and then you just get a new towel each time and get your deposit back at the end.
The daytime activities were great, especially the Aqua Gym and Aqua Zumba with Nelly, who, by the way, is (maybe unintentionally) hilarious but gets your booty shaking. You don't have to pay for any of the activities, by the way, including the bingo. But the prize was a hat/bag and a soft drink or beer. A cocktail would have been a great prize!
You get 2 hours in the spa included. This has an indoor pool, cold plunge, hot plunge, sauna, steam room and cold bucket. I wouldn't say you need the full 2 hours but I was so relaxed from the super hot plunge pool that I fell asleep on one of the beds in the spa.
The pool bar food was amazing! Such a great choice. Reasonable prices! The cocktails were perfection every. single. time! And at the evening bar. I highly recommend the BBQ night. The burgers were chef's kiss!
Evening entertainment was okay. Loved the Easter Eggs! Otherwise, it served as great background music to boogie to while playing a card game (or five) amongst ourselves).
The area was quite quiet with bars/restaurants 5+ mins away. You could also walk from Malgrat de Mar to Santa Susanna within 20 mins where there was even more restaurants/party/night life. The beach about 10 mins away was okay but very coarse sand and uncomfortable to walk into the sea. We actually got a taxi to Cala Treumal beach which did have very soft sand into the sea.
The hotel actually called taxis for us when we requested so that was great. I would say compared to other places we have been on holiday, taxis did tend to be more expensive.
The only negative was that the buffet food for breakfast and dinner was cold to warm and not hot. We had the breakfast everyday and the buffet dinner once (only put off by the temperature of the food). But it was very tasty and a great choice, because why wouldn't you have pizza and donuts for breakfast when you're on holiday?!
Would I return? Hell yeah!"
