"As repeat customers and long-term guests (16 nights) we can give an objective opinion by comparing what we knew and what we have encountered. Our return has not been what we expected.
After two years of absence, this new long stay has disappointed us. Value for money has dropped a lot.
SUPERIOR ROOM:
Minibar was not working upon arrival (they replaced it quickly), but they are very old, it does not cool anything or keep things cold and it also releases a lot of heat that reaches the safe and heats up all the things inside, putting electronic devices at risk and potentially causing a fire.
Many defects in furniture, walls, showers, sinks and toilet bowls deteriorated with stains and scratches. Many open cracks and others poorly covered on the walls and ceilings of the room and terrace.
Cracks were also visible along the hallway leading to the rooms.
Room carpets with stains.
Terrace lounge chairs and table very dirty.
Comfortable beds and pillows with a variety of sizes.
Very good shower gel.
Clothes iron and slippers are appreciated, although we did not use them.
Very good air conditioning in the room.
A box of tissues in the bathroom like other hotels and better towels would be appreciated.
BREAKFAST AND DINNER BUFFETS:
Breakfast and dinner were the worst part of the stay, whereas in previous years we congratulated the head chef for them.
If they set a wide restaurant schedule, they must offer the same quality and variety throughout the entire time.
If you had dinner after 8:30 PM (it ended at 10:00 PM) and had breakfast around 9:00 AM (it ended at 11:00 AM), there were many products that you saw upon arrival or on the signs, and when you went to get them, they told you they had run out or they were no longer restocking.
Many days, both at dinner and breakfast, the bread was leftovers from the start of service; occasionally at dinner, there was no regular bread that wasn't whole wheat or seeded.
The signs do not match the products displayed.
Using a single griddle at breakfast for everything (omelets, eggs, pancakes) is a disaster. You would go for an omelet and they had the griddle full of pancakes, and logically the flavors would then mix. And the same cook was there for eggs, omelets, making pancakes, making churros, etc.
There is no microwave to heat up plant-based milk or other products.
There was no liquid caramel or whipped cream for the pancakes, but then it was available at the dinner desserts.
The watermelons were delicious every day; the bananas were impossible to pick.
And the whole-wheat breakfast pastries are insanely delicious; they become addictive.
The french fries were also very good, if you didn't get them reheated.
The buffets on this occasion were very poor, lacking variety, and very repetitive over the 16 days... With the added problem that they would run out and not restock.
And for the final straw and surprise, on the last night (October 1st) the grill cooks didn't know the different products; you ask the meat cook for a grilling sausage and she points to a steak (the other fish cook had to explain it to her), but the story didn't end there; at the fish grill, I ordered swordfish and they give you a different fish, and when you tell them that's not swordfish, they insist that it is (we all know that swordfish is very different).
To avoid arguing, I took it and ate it (whatever it was, it was tasty, it looked like a sea bream fillet), and of course it wasn't swordfish or anything like it.
Very little staff to attend to the tables, restock plates, bowls, etc., or set tables for both dinner and breakfast.
Some nights, they didn't clear a single used plate from our table during dinner.
We had to put our yogurt in coffee cups because there were no bowls, despite us letting them know.
The coffee machines don't work well; they kept stopping every other minute, forming lines, and the coffee was bad, depending on the time and day, I suppose it depended on the amount of product the machine had.
They have changed a lot of staff and some (not all) clearly aren't professionals based on how they act and their level of interest; besides, some understand Spanish well.
POOL:
Very clean pool; they ran a robot every night for quite a while. The worker scrubbed the walls and outer edges and the water temperature was good, but the lounge chairs were very dirty around the foot area and many had the headrests removed or broken.
Allowing water shoes in the pool water that guests wear all over the hotel is not very hygienic.
Nice, new pool towels that we could exchange during the lifeguard's hours.
It's a good idea to provide a water fountain, ice, and plastic cups for guests to use at the pool.
SPA:
It's a great success that it's free and has such long hours. All the rooms were working except for the ice fountain.
The water in the main pool was a bit cold for a SPA.
The towels ran out quickly and they didn't restock them after about 5:30 PM.
STAFF:
The turndown service lady (Conchi) is super professional, a great ambassador for the hotel and the island, and very affectionate and kind to all guests, especially the repeat guests she has met in other years.
Congratulations to Mamadu; he is an excellent worker who cleans the pool area every night and also does maintenance work. We had a couple of issues in the room and he proved to be very professional, quick, and efficient. But they should provide him with better tools; sucking up air conditioning water to vacuum it is an occupational hazard, when there are very cheap hoses that suck up liquids. And it doesn't seem very logical that while he is changing light bulbs in the pool area, all wet, he gets called to go repair something in a room; they need more staff.
Marina, the breakfast or Titán bar waitress, is very pleasant, helpful with guests, and very professional.
Yolanda, the restaurant cook, is very friendly, professional, and attentive to ensuring the hot food area is in perfect condition.
David, the breakfast maître d', is very pleasant and helpful in assisting guests with their needs.
But the best employee for the hotel and for the guests is Mr. “Lahusin”. It was very noticeable on the days he was off. At breakfast, he was attentive to everything, handled guest requests within his capabilities, and was also very pleasant.
Good work by the various cleaning ladies for our room, but I have to highlight Fátima, who tidied the room in detail and left us beautiful figures made with the towels.
At the front desk, we dealt with several employees and everything was fine, although one employee has trouble understanding Spanish.
If you are looking for tranquility, you will find it here.
The price increase for 2027 is outrageous considering the quality the hotel currently has.
It needs a major renovation in both the rooms and the common areas.
Good luck with the pigeons, which are unpleasant at the pool and on the terraces."
