Sands Beach Resort

"My mam and dad are currently staying over there .They are elderly and were treated terrible on arrival .The receptionist rolled his eyes at them when they asked was the beach near .He told them the beach was closed for renovations .Be careful when booking if this is the case .They also arrived late at night and he put them a good bit up and no light to even see where they were going .Another couple who are staying there helped them to their room. .Rude staff and Ill be onto love holidays .Its a disgrace to treat elderly people in such a manner"

"Where do I even start.... This hotel is a complete shambles , its dirty , infested with cockroaches , falling to bits , unhygienic and 100 other things. I once lived in Costa for 10 years , and this holiday was a large family holiday (17 of us in total). My family live all over the UK so it was a chance for us all to meet and come together to remember my Dad who passed away in Lanzarote during covid and my Nan who passed just before Xmas. It soon turned in to a holiday from hell. Between us we had 6 rooms , and not a single one was without fault! Me and my partner arrived to a room that someone had clearly tried to break into so the door would not lock ( the cleaner had left it wide open so clearly knew the issue). We reported it , someone came to fix it which didnt work so at half 8 on our first night whilst my family met for dinner we were moving rooms. The next apartment we moved to had a broken table on the patio , it was so dirty I literally had to bleach every where. Kitchen cupboard were hanging off the hinges , the floor were full of hair in the bathroom. There were cockroaches falling out the cupboards and wardrobes. There was food left in the fridge and freezer from previous people. I understand that work is going on and it has to be done , but we're were woken up at 7am every morning by workmen , cement mixers and tools right in front of the bedroom window. One day we were laying by the pool , and the cleaners were in an apartment next door. I can understand Spanish quite well and heard the cleaners speaking to eachother discussing whether there was anything in the fridge that they could eat (someone was still staying in that apartment but we're out). 1 of my cousins had to have their doors fixed 5 times , 1 cousin could not feed her kids in the apartment as there were cockroaches all over the pans and crockery in the kitchen cupboards. My aunty literally had to hunt a cleaner down as after 5 days nobody had cleaned or replaced towels , emptied bin or anything in her apartment. We tried to speak to staff about the issues calmly and politely but just kept getting told to take any issues to the holiday company that we booked with. They were less than helpful! I don't know how this hotel has the star rating it does! Its absolutely disgusting , and I genuinely feel for unkowing holiday makers that have booked a stay there. It put a massive downer on what should have been a great holiday of family coming together to remember our loved ones. Instead we spent a lot of our time in the reception or just avoiding being there completely. I would avoid at all costs!"

"Accommodation cancelled 4 days before i was due to arrive due to building work that they have know about for months on end, i have even been i direct contact to see how things were progressing and there was no mention of possible can cancellations, shocking service and so disappointing, no a word from the hotel and currently ignoring emails too"
