"Good heavens, mold, mold, mold! To be honest, I can only imagine that the extremely different reviews come from the fact that part of the hotel is renovated and many of those who reviewed positively here were accommodated there. Unfortunately, we had different, rather unpleasant experiences. And first of all, it should be said that not everything was bad. The question is always, what can I expect (at what price) from a 4-star hotel in Mallorca!? Certainly, we are also prepared to make compromises. One could overlook the fact that the hotel is very dated and makes an unkempt impression in many places, but the defects we encountered were partly so serious that we can only advise against a visit here. But one thing at a time: Location: + Great location with direct access to a beautiful beach slightly on the edge of Can Picafort (approx. 10 minutes walk to the center). Sun loungers on the beach cost extra, but that is common in Mallorca. 2 sun loungers with an umbrella cost 21 euros per day. Staff: + Very nice staff, always friendly, always helpful. + good unobtrusive entertainment, very nice entertainers. - Information provided at the reception was a bit sparse, you had to ask about a lot (e.g., where exactly our rooms are, etc.). But that wasn't super bad. Catering (we had half board): + The food itself was good and the selection was sufficient for us. Drinks are paid for separately at dinner at fair prices. - At breakfast, milkshakes were prepared in the middle of the room in a blender that was so loud that you couldn't understand your own words. - Dishes and glasses were often dirty. Sometimes you needed 3 "attempts" to get a clean glass. ---Absolute no-go: there was repeatedly partially heavily molded fruit on display. There were also containers with heavily molded fruit at the "mixer station." These were sometimes still used for the milkshakes. Room, we had an apartment: + Mattresses in the main bed were okay. + Kitchenette and kitchen equipment sufficient for us. - Very old and worn out, sofa bed with holes and stains. Sagging mattress. - Very saggy, uncomfortable chairs on the balcony. - Unclean, all faucets, shower head, etc. were dirty. A wipe with a finger and the dirt came off. --- No-go: Severely moldy air conditioning vents and mold stains on the ceiling. So when you turn on the air conditioning, you get the full blast of spores... We complained at the reception. As a result, the stains on the ceiling were wiped off briefly. The air conditioning vents remained just as severely moldy. I then cleaned them myself. That's when the extent was revealed; the entire area around the air conditioning was severely moldy, in some places even in the hallway. Sorry, but you cannot expect a guest to put up with that!! Absolute no-go, no matter how many stars a hotel has. We then didn't turn on the air conditioning at all. Instead, we sweated and were eaten by mosquitoes thanks to the open window. - When you showered, the whole bathroom was flooded because the slope is wrong and a splash guard is missing. Pools: + nice pools in themselves, including the spa area with an indoor pool. There were three pools outside. + We always got lounge chairs. + You could change beach towels 3 times a week, which was sufficient for us. - No-go: The pools were sometimes really dirty. Black deposits everywhere in the grout. The drain all around was heavily soiled and moldy! - Wooden floorboards in the pool area, as well as to the beach, were partially loose or broken. In some places, screws were even sticking out. Absolutely not okay with a child! - The loungers were sporadically "cleaned" in the morning with an old broom and water. Artificial turf mats all around and many other areas were not cleaned. General information and other things: - The gym is a glass box and very old; the treadmill has probably been broken for years. Equipment is not in good condition. 2 air conditioners, one broken, the other only blows lukewarm air. So it was continuously 29 C in here. I had asked for the air conditioning to be adjusted; an employee came who then determined that it was all broken. Nothing changed. Also mold on the walls here... - Overall, the facility made an unkempt impression; there was a lot of trash on the path to the beach and in the restaurant area. Bird droppings on the wooden floorboards in the restaurant were never cleaned."
