"We have read some of the recent reviews saying there are no local shops, how far it is to the main part of Adeje, that it's not a hotel etc which is the opinion of those reviewing. We will give our opinion and try to be informative for future visitors, again this is our opinion and others will think differently.
We have not long returned from our 3rd stay at the Baobab Suites and each time we’ve stayed, we haven’t been disappointed and have two more bookings made.
What we both love about Baobab Suites is from the second we arrive, we’re made to feel like we’re returning “home”. We’re greeted by either Dina or Loren who always have big smiles on their faces, and it feels like they’re genuinely happy to see you and it is always remembered if you’re a returning guest. Again, this is down to the amazing team that are at the Baobab Suites, Alain, Dina, Loren, Hugo, Frank, Siddi and many others who cannot do enough for you.
The hotel was built as apartments, so this is what you will get - not a hotel room. The rooms are large, comfortable with a full kitchen and very large balconies which are cleaned daily to a good standard, towels changed daily and beds changed every 2-3 days. Car parking is free (in an underground secure car park) you just need to ask reception. If you want to walk into the main area of Adeje, its about 10 minutes downhill. You can get a taxi back up the hill for approx. 4 Euros.
The hotel provides a free taxi to the beach, just ask!
If you want shops, and have a hire car, there is a Hiperdino and a Mercadonna a few minutes drive away. Hiperdino you can walk to in 20 minutes. If you don't have a car, you can use taxis which are cheap again just ask reception and they'll help you.
We like the location of the hotel, which is peaceful. There isn't any pool music or evening entertainment which we feel is a plus, not a negative.
The included breakfast can either be a box delivered to your room, book this on the app or with reception the day before. Or you can go to the buffet breakfast which is fantastic and has plenty to offer everyone or you can book breakfast at the BB Lounge which is table service and well worth doing once or twice during your stay.
The BB Lounge also offers light meals throughout the day and up until midnight which we enjoyed and feel are reasonably priced.
Outside there is an independent steak house called Char and across the road is Kar Bon restaurant and sports club which are owned by the hotel.
You can walk to Del Duque shops or the beach in less than 10 minutes, or use the free taxi. La Caleta is a 5 minute drive away or a quick taxi ride.
We had a friends daughters 7th birthday while we were there and Dina very kindly directed us to a locals shopping centre so we could go to Toys R Us. I was craving cake and once again, Dina very kindly gave us 2 recommendations for “English Bakeries” close by. Dina's the best!
We have a favourite suite and I know Dina/Loren/Alain and the rest of the team do their best to ensure we are allocated our favourite suite.
We hope this gives you a little insight in the Baobab Suites and why we like it.
We heard that Domes had taken over management of the Baobab Suites but, so far, nothing major appears to have changed and we hope this continues as the last thing we want is for the peace and tranquillity that we desperately need each time we stay, to be ruined with loud music or aerobics by the pool or rowdy live sports shown on a big screen. If we wanted that, we’d go to Hotel Suite Villa Maria!
All in all, we love Baobab Suites for the convenience of having your own apartment with the added benefit of a daily maid service. Obviously we love Adeje and the weather but what really makes Baobab Suites 5* for us, are the people. Alain, Dina, Loren, Frank, Hugo Siddi – they all make you feel like you are the only guest they have spoken to that day when, in actual fact, they have probably already spoken to 50+ other people!!
We can't wait to return!"
