"This was our fourth visit in four years to Guayarmina Princess and it did not disappoint!
We arrived late morning and were told our room would be ready around 2/2:30PM, however we were able to do all the check in bits including getting our bands upon our arrival so come the afternoon we just had to find out our room number. We were given a drinks voucher for us to redeem at the bar for either a water, juice or cava, which was a nice touch.
The bands you are given open your room and are also used to charge things to your room (if half board as in our case). Super handy as you don't need to worry about carrying around a room key.
We stayed in room 9035 which is a side sea view room. The room is a great size with comfy beds and pillows along with two arm chairs. The TV had some English channels including ITV and Channel 4 (if you like a bit of background noise!). The balcony had a lovely view of the sea and contained two chairs and a table. The lights do switch off out here at 11PM.
The bathroom has a shower with two shower heads including a rainful one. The hairdryer is reasonably decent for a hotel one (coming from someone with thick hair!). The toilet is separated by just a sliding glass panel so not the most private - just perhaps something to note!
This was our first time booking direct and we were able to add late check out to our booking which meant we had our room till 6PM. This was great and so worth the money as we had a late flight home, and this meant we could enjoy our final day properly. We just had to pop down to reception before 12PM on our day of check out to pick up a room key card to use for the remainder of the day.
We noticed some cocktails had increased slightly in price this year however they are still decent prices. They are certainly made using Spanish measures and not watered down like you get at some places!
This was our first time visiting outside of Summer, and we found that understandably there wasn't quite as much evening entertainment as during the Summer, however there was always an act on every evening which we enjoyed.
During the day there is water volleyball and aqua gym every day, along with a selection of activities in the games zone including pétanque, riffle, darts, killer pool, and table tennis. The team are all great and it was lovely to see Natacha still there. A special shoutout to Jess and Nino who were both lovely, great fun and had so much energy!
Breakfast included your typical hot breakfast bits, along with continental options including hams, cheeses, breads, pastries, yogurts and fruits.
The hotel seemed to have invested in new juice machines and I found the apple juice to be so much better than previous years, so this was great to see.
There is also a hot drinks machine which includes hot chocolate.
We often had lunch/ice creams and drinks at the Sea Breeze restaurant/bar - lovely view but hold onto your napkins as the clue is in the name - it is breezy!
The restaurant for evening meals seemed to have a theme every evening, including Asian and Mexican. There is a wide selection and always pizza and garlic bread for your fussy eaters.
For every 4 nights you stay, you have the option to book into the meat specialist restaurant, The Roast. You can book this either on the app or on the big screens in the hotel. We had the beef entrecôte and it was beautiful!
Also on the app/hotel screens is the ability to book your sunbeds. You can book from 6am for the following day and you can find your confirmation on the app/emailed to you. Just one day we had some chancers who tried their luck with our loungers, but when I approached with my confirmation they soon vacated. If this does happen and you don't want to deal with it, from previous years the lifeguard/towel man is always on hand to deal with this for you!
Tip: just make sure you have claimed your booked loungers but 12PM, as after this time, anyone can take any unclaimed ones.
My only real gripe is the same as last year - the sun loungers area, particularly the tables, could do with a good scrub and it would be great if the hotel could ensure they are wiped every evening ready for the next day.
Overall, we would definitely recommend this hotel and are sure we will be back for our 5th visit sometime soon!"
