"Overall, a very beautiful and well-maintained hotel complex with friendly and attentive staff. A special highlight are the truly very spacious rooms (living room with kitchen, bedroom), as well as a large bathroom with a whirlpool tub as standard. One should be aware, however, that the "Suite Mountain View" should actually be called "Suite Mountain & Autopista-View," since in addition to the view of the mountains, there is also a view of a main road (highway) with the corresponding noise level. This is tolerable, but it is constantly present. The idea of having two pools is also nice. One for families and one that is only allowed for children 14 years and older. At the same time, the hotel is also very child- and disability-friendly.
There is a large selection of different entertainment activities for children and adults in total. For instance, there is a varied entertainment program in the bar every evening starting at 9:45 PM with different artists performing acrobatics, dances, or singing. Before that, there is always a mini-disco for children, which also has great entertainment value for adult spectators.
The location of the hotel is both an advantage and a disadvantage. The hotel is located on a high mountain above Puerto de la Cruz, and you have a great view over the entire valley from the pool. However, you are also a bit "off the beaten path," because the town center of Puerto de la Cruz is about 2 km away. The walk down into town is doable, but the way back means about a 45-minute walk, including 2 km, climbing stairs, and going uphill. That is not necessarily a pleasure in the prevailing temperatures. A free shuttle bus runs during the week. However, only until 1:00 PM on Saturdays and not at all on Sundays. In the worst case, you can at least take a taxi back to the hotel, which costs about 10 euros. At certain times, a public bus also departs from the "Las Arenas" stop, which is about 800 m away. But even here, a small climb up to the mountain where the hotel is located is unfortunately necessary.
A real weak point of the hotel is unfortunately the food. With "all-inclusive," you naturally have the option to get free drinks at any time. This also includes cocktails and other alcoholic beverages. In addition, there is the "snack bar" (at lunch) and a "rich buffet" (available in the morning, at lunch, and in the evening). Small dishes, such as hamburgers or hot dogs, are also prepared in the snack bar. However, the cooking skills of the staff are still very much in need of improvement. The buffets are, as already mentioned, rich and offer a large selection. The quality of the food is, however, rather mediocre. You can eat everything, and whoever goes out and is still hungry and thirsty has only themselves to blame ;-)... but the proverbial "spoonful of sophistication" is missing. Therefore, it would almost be better if the selection were smaller, but in terms of quality simply better and more varied.
Despite the mentioned weak points, the hotel can clearly be recommended."
