Residhome Val d’Europe

"We paid extra to stay in a prestige room, with space for 6 (family of 5). Fine location with immediate proximity to the RER station. Short to Val d'Europe shopping center. There were polished surfaces in the bedrooms, which was nice. But it was clearly old otherwise. The kitchen did not have enough glasses, plates, or cutlery for 6 people. The dishwasher did NOT wash clean and was visibly dirty inside. Also discovered 2 beard hairs in the bathroom, so we thoroughly checked everything before packing it in suitcases before heading home. There were 2 separate bedrooms that worked well, but there was no space to put a suitcase on the floor, so all suitcases had to be in the living room. The bathroom was interesting. 2 small rooms with shower and sink (one with a bathtub) and one separate toilet without a sink. The one bathroom with a shower had a ceiling full of mold and was therefore unusable for us with 3 children. We brought this up with the reception multiple times, it was supposed to be washed (didn't work), then someone else was supposed to look at it but couldn't do anything because we were in the room. There were no other rooms we could switch to either. Therefore I got free breakfast on day 3. They could not offer us this more than once because the breakfast service was another company and they would not pay them for breakfast. That is why it was easier for them to give us a 20% refund of the price we had paid. Clever setup. Not worth paying so much for breakfast, we chose not to order breakfast but got access for 1 day as mentioned. Not a large selection, a middle ground between buffet and continental breakfast. Can buy a lot of food for that price at Auchan supermarket in Val d'Europe, nice to have a fridge and freezer in the "kitchen". Please reception, spoke with many of them during the 6-day stay when we had to contact them every day because of the mold."

"Our experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing, mainly due to the unacceptable behaviour of a staff member, who appeared to be the restaurant manager. My husband, our 9-year-old son, and I were part of a large group staying at the hotel. On the morning in question, the rest of our group had already left for their Paris tour, so we went to have breakfast a little later. We were still well within the hotel’s officially advertised breakfast hours of 8:00–11:00 a.m. After presenting our room card to the staff member at the restaurant entrance, we were directed into the dining area assigned to our group and started eating. Just five minutes later, a man approached our table and, in an extremely rude, aggressive, unprofessional, and disrespectful manner, ordered us to get up immediately and leave our breakfast because the designated time slot for our group had supposedly ended. We explained that nobody had informed us of any separate breakfast schedule for our group and that we were still within the breakfast hours clearly stated on our room card and displayed behind our bedroom door. Instead of handling the situation politely and professionally, this man continued speaking to us in an appalling tone, insisting that it was not his responsibility if our tour guide had failed to inform us and that we had to leave immediately. The way we were treated was absolutely unacceptable, especially in front of our 9-year-old child. Even if there had been a separate schedule for our group, a simple, polite explanation would have been sufficient. There was absolutely no justification for such hostile and humiliating treatment of paying guests. We eventually got up, took the few items we had managed to prepare from the already very poor and tasteless breakfast served to our group throughout our three-day stay, and finished eating in our room. This incident left us with an awful impression of the hotel and completely overshadowed our stay. What should have been a simple breakfast turned into a deeply unpleasant experience because of one staff member’s behaviour and the hotel’s apparent failure to communicate its own rules clearly to its guests. After this incident, I started reading other guests’ reviews and was disappointed, though not surprised, to discover that we were apparently not the only guests who had experienced disrespectful and inappropriate behaviour from the hotel staff. A hotel’s hospitality should be reflected not only in its facilities but, above all, in the way it treats its guests. Unfortunately, this hotel failed miserably in that regard. Poor breakfast quality is one thing, but treating guests with such rudeness and disrespect is entirely unacceptable. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who values basic courtesy, professionalism, and respectful customer service. Management should seriously reconsider its approach to guest relations and ensure that no other family has to experience such treatment."

"We loved the experience! The breakfast is really good and the breakfast team is super nice, especially Bruno, such a sweet person! Thanks again to Hugo at the front desk for helping us! To be repeated, without a doubt!"
