Alesahne Beach

"We're recently back from a week at this hotel. Originally intended to book a different hotel but missed out on the last room and booked this last minute. We chose it because it had two pools and used neither. One at the back was very small and terraces backed on to it so it would've felt awkward using it. Pool at the front was small with only 4 sunbeds and right by the promenade so didn't use it. We went to the beach instead. Sunbeds and parasol on the beach were chargeable at 15 euros a day or food or drink to the equivalent. Sunbeds were comfy with a wedge pillow. We bought food or drink but felt that 9 euros was expensive for a large beer. Rooms and bathrooms were small but fine. Cleanliness fine throughout. Breakfast was included - what you would expect in Greece and perfectly adequate. Beachfront hotel, although bleach is black shingle and difficult to get out of the sea so most people wore beach shoes. Dropped off at bus stop at top of path. Caught bus to Fira from here a couple of times. Overall, we had a lovely time, felt well looked after by all staff and were glad that we booked this hotel, as when we found the one we had intended to book it was on a road and noisy."

"AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! It is best to look at the photos attached to my comment. We arrived via a complicated path with suitcases and were met with the iciest of welcomes. We were then led to an unsanitary room, and that is an understatement!!! Excrement in the toilets, torn curtains, dirt in EVERY corner, dust bunnies, hair in the bed, suspicious marks on the walls, dirty shower curtain! Beside myself, I asked to be moved to another room; we were given the same type but larger. It was hell, and not an apology from the management, who looked at us with a smile. Dirt is also present in the common areas; the pool lounge chairs have traces of grime. To top it off, they will ask you to pay for the lounge chairs on the beach and require you to make a purchase! This hotel makes money off your back when it has nothing to offer. Fortunately, I was able to manage a hotel change with my agency, but really, STAY AWAY! It is a disgrace!!!!"

"Great location, rooms are fine - compact but have everything you need - no.additional charges for safe, air con or hairdryer etc. Tasty breakfast and often ordered lunch too which didn’t disappoint. What really stands out are the staff- what a lovely bunch led by Kostas. All of them were so professional with genuine warmth and great hosts. Sun bed service was amazing. Drinks were always good. Genuinely shocked this is a two star and deserves more. All facilities spotless and if went back to the resort would be our first choice to stay again."
