AP Oriental Beach - Adults Friendly

"We came as a couple to this hotel from October 1st to October 8th, 2026. Very quiet at this time of year, it is a human-sized hotel so it is a real pleasure, we are not on top of each other at the pool and there is always room for lounge chairs. Room provided with a beautiful side view of the beach, top-notch and spacious. We had requested a quiet room because I had read reviews regarding noise from the elevators for example, which was respected. Hotel very well located, in the quiet part of the street with the shops, and at the same time close enough to go for a walk there, as well as along the beach. A big thank you to the cleaning staff who did a top-notch job, it is a real pleasure to find our room clean every morning, and also to the hotel reception staff who were very welcoming. We were on half-board: breakfast very good with a variety of choices, dinner also good in terms of appetizers and desserts. Cheese still has more flavor in France 😉 Cold cuts were very good! For the main course, there are about 4-5 choices of meat/fish and several side dishes, it is very sufficient because it changes every evening. Small downsides but which in no way hinder the enjoyment of the meals: the line to serve oneself for the main course and the drink which often arrived after the appetizer. The region is magnificent! We enjoyed staying in Portimao, which is very well located for easily traveling a bit everywhere with a rental car (Praia da falesia, Algar seco, Praia de Albendeira, Seven Hanging Valleys Trail, Monchique, Ponta da Piedade, Lagos, Ferragudo, Carvoeiro, Silves, Alvor, Loulé, Albufeira). At the end of the day, we enjoyed relaxing by the hotel pool with a little cocktail or sangria! Thank you 😉"

"In retrospect, we were very disappointed with this hotel. The price-performance ratio is definitely not right. The hotel itself is dated, and the service leaves a lot to be desired. You don't get the feeling of being welcome as a guest here. At the reception and in the restaurant, the male staff in particular are very unpleasant - they are moody and do not even say hello. Only a young intern from Vienna stood out positively to us and our friends. She is currently doing an internship in service. The food consists of many ready-made products. A large portion of the fruit comes from tin cans. Regarding the breakfast buffet: the coffee from the machine is undrinkable, meat and cheese - mashed-together cheap goods. No fresh cheese or meat for breakfast. Our room was near the elevator; one could only dream of a restful night because it made very loud, unpleasant noises. If you left the air conditioning running in the room, it smelled unpleasantly of feces within a short time. The best thing about the whole stay was the gelateria across from the hotel and the beautiful, wide (public) beach."

"The hotel is beautiful and well-maintained with spacious rooms. Despite an elevator, you still have to take some stairs in this hotel. So difficult when you are less mobile. Reception and cleaning service are okay. There is something to be said about the restaurant. The interior does not match the rest of the hotel at all. There is no reception at the entrance of the restaurant, so you can choose a table yourself to sit down. When you go to eat later, you end up at a table still set with the dirty dishes of the previous diners, and it takes a while for this to be cleared away. The food was in buffet form and truly subpar. Limited selection, lukewarm and poorly prepared by an uninspired chef. Pancakes as hard as old bread, unchilled cheese that is sweating and ice cream in plastic cups. Finally went out to eat at a restaurant that was very tasty."
