The hotel is beautifully designed. The lobby is a small but stunning maximalist space, and you can tell an incredible amount of thought went into every detail. It's visually interesting without feeling overwhelming, and it makes a fantastic first impression.
We are already familiar with this group from the Wilde Paddington location in London, UK. Also great.
Our room was exactly as pictured: beautifully appointed, comfortable, and impeccably designed. The bedding was soft, the mattresses very comfortable (medium-firm) the towels were wonderfully fluffy, and everything felt fresh and high quality. The pillows were XL and we noticed that 1 was fuller/firmer and the other slightly softer (amazing for different types of sleepers). The room still had that "brand new" smell from the recently installed cabinetry and fixtures, which reinforced how new the property is. What impressed us as well was how well insulated the room was. Despite some of the rooms overlooking a lively street (balcony), we couldn't hear a thing once the patio doors were closed. They must be exceptionally well insulated. It was only when we opened the doors or windows that we were reminded of the vibrant city atmosphere below. Electronic blackout screens also part of the rooms.
One feature we absolutely loved was the 24/7 pantry in the lobby and deserves a special mention - it's quite innovative. Since every room includes a fully stocked kitchenette, being able to grab snacks or ingredients at any hour is a brilliant idea (late-night pasta is always an option!). The self-service touchscreen checkout makes it quick and easy. It's not like other hotels with a little vending machine or convenience store—it's a clever extension of the kitchenette concept and gives the hotel that serviced apartment feel rather than a traditional hotel. Best of both worlds. We appreciate these details.
The only minor challenge is arriving by car. There isn't anywhere to pull over directly outside the hotel, but that's simply a consequence of its location on a one-way street in Porto's historic center rather than anything the hotel can control. We had to briefly stop in the bus lane while I ran inside to collect the parking access card, which was a little inconvenient, but ultimately understandable given the geography of the area.
The underground parking lot is just a few steps away (literally a 2-min. walk). Parking has an additional fee but affordable daily rate and it's modern, well-lit and safe.
The location is hard to beat. Situated in the heart of Porto's historic center, everything is within easy walking distance from the iconic Clérigos Tower and Livraria Lello (literally a 4-min walk) to São Bento Station, the Ribeira, countless restaurants, cafés, and wine bars. Even when we took a Uber/Bolt to our fav restaurants, shops it never more than 5 euros. Despite being in the middle of the action, the hotel still feels like a comfortable retreat after a day of exploring. If you're visiting Porto for sightseeing, you really couldn't ask for a better base.
Our biggest disappointment was the check-in experience. We had booked a 2 twin-bed room directly through the hotel's website, but when we arrived late in the evening, our room had a queen bed instead. The front desk was very apologetic, but unfortunately, there was no housekeeping staff available to separate or remake the beds at that hour. We were moved to another room, but it was a noticeable downgrade from the one we had originally reserved (no balcony), which was a bit disappointing. To their credit, the hotel offered a small gesture of goodwill to make up for the inconvenience. They dealt with it quite well and right away (the next morning).
Another slight inconvenience was that the rooftop terrace is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Especially during the summer months, it's one of the hotel's standout features and a space we were looking forward to enjoying. We understand the hotel may still be in its soft opening phase with relatively low occupancy at first, but when guests are paying to stay at the property, they naturally expect to have access to all of its amenities. Keeping the rooftop open every day during peak season would greatly enhance the overall guest experience (maybe limited hours?).
The staff: fabulous, fresh & committed.
One of the hotel's greatest assets is its front-of-house team. The younger staff members, easily recognizable in their uniforms, were genuinely warm, enthusiastic, and eager to help. They brought a refreshing energy to every interaction and spoke multiple languages fluently, making international guests feel immediately welcome. Rather than simply carrying out their duties, they seemed proud to be part of the hotel and genuinely invested in creating a great guest experience. Shoutout to the male Brazilian team member that welcomed us on arrival (late night). He did everything he could to make us feel welcome and to problem-solve (sorry, didn't get his name). E muito simpatico e profissional! In an industry where service can often feel scripted, their friendliness and authenticity stood out and left a lasting impression.
You can already tell this is going to be an exceptional hotel. Congratulations to the entire team on the tremendous amount of work that goes into bringing a new property like this to life. The design, rooms, and overall concept are outstanding. Just a few operational details need to be ironed out as the hotel settles into its rhythm. Which is perfectly normal. We had an excellent stay. The hotel is beautiful, thoughtfully designed, perfectly located, and incredibly comfortable. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and have already booked our next visit.
Quite simply, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better place to stay in Porto. Booking here feels like an obvious choice.
