"PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING – AS A WOMEN, I DID NOT FEEL SAFE AT THIS HOTEL!
I never thought I would have to write a review like this, but I believe other guests, especially WOMEN should know what happened to me at Crystal De Luxe Hotel in Kemer.
On the second evening of our stay, I, a woman, was punched in the face by an adult man on the hotel premises. My male friend who was with me was also punched.
After the first assault, we repeatedly asked hotel staff for security and police assistance. There was approximately a 5–10 minute period in which something could have been done to protect us and separate us from the group. Nothing effective was done.
The same man was then able to approach us again and punch my friend in the face a second time, causing him to lose consciousness.
It was actually OTHER HOTEL GUESTS who stepped in and stopped the situation — not hotel security.
Even after my friend had been knocked unconscious, no ambulance or immediate medical assistance was called by the hotel. I had to speak directly to the police and ask for help because I was extremely concerned about my friend's condition. Around 20 minutes later, the Security Manager eventually took us to the hospital and police station.
Before returning, I specifically asked whether it was safe for us to go back to the hotel. I was assured that the group involved would no longer be allowed to stay.
The following morning was almost as shocking. Nobody from the hotel asked how I was. There was no meaningful welfare check or support. - NOTHING! I went to reception myself and again asked whether the people involved had left. I was told they had.
At approximately 4pm, I then saw members of the SAME GROUP sitting by the hotel pool, drinking alcohol!!!
Imagine being a woman who had been punched in the face by an adult man the previous night, then seeing members of that group sitting comfortably by the pool after the hotel had specifically assured you they were gone. They were looking and gesturing in my direction, and I felt genuinely frightened and unsafe.
We tried to speak with the General Manager, Erhan, about this extremely serious situation. We felt that he initially avoided having a proper conversation with us. When we finally managed to speak with him, we received no meaningful support or solution. We were effectively told that removing the individuals was a matter for the police.
At that point, I had completely lost confidence in the hotel's ability or willingness to keep us safe.
This review is not simply about the fact that an assault happened. A hotel cannot control every individual's behaviour. It is about what happened AFTER the first punch.
Security had an opportunity to intervene before the second assault. They did not effectively protect us. My friend was then punched again and lost consciousness. Other guests had to intervene. No ambulance was immediately called. We were subsequently assured that the group would not remain at the hotel, only for us to see members of them by the pool the following day.
After being physically assaulted, I should not have had to repeatedly chase reception and management asking: “Am I safe here?”
I eventually contacted my tour operator and requested to be moved to another hotel because I was genuinely afraid to continue staying there.
A holiday resort should be somewhere you feel safe. If something serious happens, you expect security and management to protect you, provide medical assistance and support you afterwards.
That was not my experience at Crystal De Luxe.
I personally cannot recommend this hotel after what happened to us. I am sharing this because other travellers — particularly women travelling here — deserve to know how our situation was handled.
Please consider your safety carefully before booking."
