Stella Palace Aqua Park Resort

"Ok so this place is an absolute dream come true. Me and my (now wife) had been looking for somewhere to get married for a few years and after she had done all her research this was the place chosen. Let me tell you it was the best decision she’s ever made. Before we arrived most of the hard work had been done by the wedding planners who were absolutely amazing from start to finish, they couldn’t do enough for us, we had our own group chat and any questions we had we answered day and night, they just took all the stress away and let us focus on enjoying our stay. We had one meeting with them on our second day there just to run over all the final details and they took care of the rest. We couldn’t thank them enough. On our arrival (very late at night) they had arranged for food to be available in our rooms as well as drinks. The check-in process was very simple, collect your wristbands room keys etc, and then the security guard was available to take us on a buggy to our rooms so we didn’t have to carry our luggage, also gave us a tour of the place so we knew where things were along the way. We did happen to arrive in the middle of a thunderstorm/flood but after two days it was all back to normal and the weather was amazing (especially on the wedding day) As previously mentioned the staff were absolutely amazing and couldn’t do enough for you but I do have to give a shoutout to 4 specific members. Firstly Stam at the 900 bar, what an amazing person, he genuinely made the holiday worthwhile all by himself, the guy cannot do enough for you, he’s always smiling and cracking jokes and his service is just way beyond what you could ever hope for. Secondly is Mara our wedding planner, just made our lives so simple from start to finish and was always available to help. Thank you. Thirdly was Olivia from one of the pool bars by the 600 rooms. After finding out about the wedding every day she was asking how things were progressing and making sure we always had drinks during the day by the pool. A very lovely lady who genuinely seemed to care about our holiday and not just asking to be polite. Lastly was the older gentleman at the bar by reception, I’m so sorry I can’t remember the name but he was an absolute gem! Always keeping us entertained and full of alcohol in the evenings while we chilled on the balcony. But this is just an example of how great the staff are, from the cleaning staff, wait staff, bar staff etc, every single member we met were always smiling and couldn’t do enough for you. Now let’s talk about the food: The restaurants were amazing! I’m not a fussy eater at all so I always eat whatever is in front of me, but certain members of our party are extremely fussy or have allergies. Well that was not a problem, I don’t care how fussy you are there is always and I genuinely mean that, ALWAYS, something to cater for you. The Poseidon (buffet) had so much choice even my mother, who usually lives on chips and spaghetti was managing to find something. The a-la-carte restaurants are plentiful, there’s a steakhouse, Asian, Greek, Mexican and Mediterranean all of which were amazing, special shoutout to the verander (steakhouse) for putting on a special candlelit dinner for us after the wedding. That was a very nice touch. The facilities are also brilliant, I know many people won’t bother with the gym on holiday but they have a well stocked indoor gym with treadmills, weights, bicycles etc, and a great outdoor gym with pull up bars weights, tyres all the good stuff. The spa is very nice with an indoor pool, plenty of massage options and a beauty parlour for any special occasions. There’s also plenty of other bars and snack places offering burgers, hotdogs, ice creams and all the other good stuff if you just fancy a snack throughout the day. On to the waterpark and pools. The waterpark is absolutely amazing, I don’t think I need to say much more about it, just go and enjoy it for yourself, you’ll feel like a child again on all the rides. And there’s even a smaller park for the kids if they aren’t big enough for the main rides. The swimming pools… now this is the only negative, we paid for a room with a private pool but sadly we couldn’t really get much use out of it because the water is soooo cold. Now this is not a complaint because it would be unreasonable to expect all the pools to be heated and once you’ve braved jumping in it’s not all that bad. But maybe think about doing something with the private pools to at least get more use out of them. I would say if you are staying here it’s probably worth getting a private hire from the airport, the hotel is quite far along the hotel drop off line. It took us nearly 2 hours to get there however our guests got a taxi for 45 euros and took 25 minutes. So definitely worth the money if you don’t mind spending it. Reception staff: Again I’m sorry I don’t remember the name but we had one of the receptionist sort out the taxi from the airport for our guests and also acquire some allergy medication for us (on a Sunday) she was so helpful and said just leave it with her to get sorted so we didn’t have to mess around, she gave us a ring when the stuff had been picked up and delivered and we just paid for it (and a little extra for the taxi of course) just another example of them letting us do our own thing and enjoy ourselves while they take care of stuff behind the scenes. I can see why this hotel is so popular and we will definitely be back in the future and cannot wait. I could literally write a thesis on this place but I doubt anyone wants to read that much. So let me just finish by saying if you are in any doubt as to whether or not to book this place (holiday, or wedding) don’t be!! Just do it and you will not regret the choice. I have been all over the world in my time and stayed in some magnificent places but this is very very high up on the list of the best hotels I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying in. So again thank you to everyone who made our stay and our special day go off without a hitch. You made us all very welcome and very happy."

"Such a beautiful and amazing resort. This is our first time here as a family. My partner and I came last year to Stella Island. Both visits were magical. The staff are brilliant, so polite and attentive, very well presented and accommodating to all your needs. You’d be hard pushed to find anything negative about this place. It says it all when we arrived, my son commented “I’ve dreamt of places like this”. The food is exquisite, catering for all tastes and their presentation is remarkable. We love that there are so many different settings within the resort to cater for all the family throughout the whole day. My son loved the burger bar and my daughter loved the ice cream/dessert hut. This is definitely a place you’ll want to bring your family to time and time again."

"My wife and I spent two glorious weeks at the Stella Palace Aqua Park Resort along with 22 other family members to celebrate the wedding of our son and his fiancee at the complex. On arrival (following an hours coach drive from the airport) we were provided with our two room cards (Room 670) and two pool towel cards which you exchange at the entrance to the Aqua Park for your towels which you can change numerous times during your stay for clean ones. Just make sure to hand the towels back in exchange for your towel cards at the end of your stay or you will be charged 10 euros per towel if you lose your towels. There is free wifi in your room and around the complex which worked fine. We also had to pay on arrival the Greek Holiday Room Tax which in high season is 15 euros per night so that was 210 euros gone on arrival which we were aware of prior to travelling. We were conveyed from reception to our room by golf buggy along with our luggage which was a relief as it was a very late arrival. The room itself was lovely with a free of charge keycode safety deposit safe. There was a mini fridge with stocked bottles of water which were replenished each morning by room service. There is a tv in the room however it is mainly of foreign channels and BBC and Sky News channels with no UK film channels.There was also a hairdryer and iron in the room. Our ground floor room opened onto a small patio with table and chairs which led directly onto the swimming pool area and pool bar a matter of twenty feet away. The pool itself was extremely cold but after the initial shock of getting in was fine. The staff at this complex could not do enough for you and everyone from the bar staff to restaurant staff always had a smile on their face and made you feel most welcome. The main restaurant (Poseidon) had everything you could wish for to eat and my wife found plenty to feed her appetite and she is a very fussy eater. You also have the options to try the numerous a la carte restaurants which were a lovely choice of various meals including steak, asian, mexican and others. The first week we arrived was very overcast and we also had a major storm with Greek emergency phone alerts going off which was slightly worrying however thankfully the weather was glorious for the second week and the wonderful wedding ceremony went off to perfection and will be an occasion to remember for everyone in attendance for the rest of our lives. My wife and I did not use the Aqua Park facilities but all our grandchildren really enjoyed the experience there.. My wife and I send our thanks to all the staff at this complex and we would have no hesitation in returning.."
