Rome Garden

"Lovely little Hotel and we got a nice little room. It was very clean but the beds too hard. Breakfast was good a lot to choose from but the room was very small and felt horrible so we only had breakfast once. It’s quite a walk into the centre but it was lovely as the weather was perfect. Didn’t really have much to do with the staff so can’t say much about that. I gave it a 3 out of 5 due to very hard bed and breakfast area wasn’t enjoyable"

"Location 40 mins from Ciampino airport. Total scam regarding rooms we were in the annexe which is approx 250 meters plus from the hotel. Which we didn’t know about until we got there felt totally scammed, false advertisement. Staff were ok and seemed friendly enough. Didn’t really speak very good English. Needed 4 keys to access the building which is in a residential building. The key to access the door into the rooms was awful to open had to try several times before getting in. 1 floor converted into 6 rooms - can hear everything - guests going to the toilet, guests talking, etc. doors slamming. Didn’t get a lot of sleep. Room was small - clean. Bed was hard, pillows were not great. Air con worked ok. Fridge and safe in room. Shower needed re sealing. Needed a shower mat to prevent slips. Shower gel and soap was provided but was not ideal they were tiny. Soap was useless. Woken up next day with a lot of bites and even more days later. I noticed there were a few other reviews of guests saying the same. Not great No tea or coffee facilities in the annex staff would not accommodate if we asked for this. Breakfast was basic - croissants, teas, coffee, toast, cake, egg, smoked sausage, and various other snacks and items - no idea what they were. Sitting area was small not enough tables No atmosphere Area was clean. Was able to book a taxi through hotel to go to the Vatican City 20 euros. Varied Costs though So be aware of this. By law in Italy you need to carry your passport at all times - no copies. If using public transport - must use 2 separate bank cards to pay fares if there is more than 1 person travelling. Very confusing. We got caught out and were fined 50 euros. The hotel is quite a bit out from any main attractions ie - Vatican City, Trevi Fountain, Colloseum. You need to get a taxi or bus or even metro to get to these. Would not recommend this hotel and would not book again. Not for families. Not good value for money"

"Location from Campiono airport 40 mins depending on traffic. Upon arrival at hotel staff were friendly advise on to pay £70 tax (local tax). Room we were given is called the annex which is about 200 meters and around the corner from the actual Rome Garden Hotel. Which is false advertisement as we were not staying in the Rome Garden. Not ideal when it was raining heavily as it was. There was no tea/coffee facilities in the annex especially when it was raining staff we were advised staff would not be able to bring anything over to the annex. You could hear everything in the annex walls were paper thin. You could hear guests talking. We were given 4 keys to access the annex 1 for the gate, 1 for the entrance to the building 1 for the annex itself - this key was the worst to use was really difficult to open this door had to try several times before it worked, the last key was for the room. Others were finding it confusing with all the different keys. Rooms were clean enough, shower could do with a bit of upgrading/re sealing and a shower mat to prevent any slips. Towels were changed and beds made daily. Breakfast was basic continental, toast, jams, some cereal, croissants, fruit juices, cold meat cheese, tomatoes, vegetables, scrambled egg I felt this was not cooked properly. The area was clean. Be aware of mosquitoes- I was bitten several times went to pharmacy and was given antihistamine cream takes a while to work. There was no atmosphere at all in the hotel. However, there was a wee cafe across the road at the junction staff were very friendly service was really good and food was amazing. There are a lot of cafes, restaurants, shops in the area. Would not go back to this area or hotel. Not ideal either for kids"
