"Great staff ,shuttle bus to old town"

"Amazing experience at Hotel Calabona! 🌟 The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, from the reception desk to the hotel bar and breakfast team. Nothing was ever too much trouble. It’s a lovely walk along the seafront into the main square, taking around 15–20 minutes. If you don’t fancy the walk, there’s also a complimentary shuttle bus. The food at the bar was gorgeous, and I was really impressed that the staff even remembered our drinks order in the evening — such a lovely personal touch! The breakfast buffet always had a great selection of food, with plenty of choice each morning. I would highly recommend Hotel Calabona and would definitely stay here again."

"Hotel is definetely not 4 star. For many reasons. We arrived late on a Sat night...no food available as bar/ restaurant closes at 10.30...and as hotel is not near any other eating facility We had no choice but to use the overpriced mini bar as my wife is diabetic and had to eat. Reception staff not very friendly and no map or any details given..only to ask for 52eu extra for local tax. Rooms basic,plastic glasses and very little storage even in bathroom.Our room overlooked another apartment block so no privacy. You have to pay for towels for pool or beach.4eu daily. Private beach is inaccessible for anyone with mobility issues..steps down to it and very rocky ,no sand as such..just gravel and rocks. Breakfast which we were given diff prices on different days ranging from 18eu to 22eu daily very limited..melon and pineapple ..bacon and scrambled egg( cold) everyday.no variety for whole week.croissants and cakes daily. Breakfast staff are very nice...and bar staff but not reveption staff. Andre the shuttle bus driver very friendly and nicest of all. Saw an elderly man slip at pool and fall badly. Very slippy around pool.His head bled profusely and not one person who attended him wore gloves..lifeguard held towel to his head..medics called but he didnt want to go to hospital so was left to his own devices and nobody checked in with him after..we met him.in pharmacy that night looking for bandage for a still bleeding cut on his head.! Saw numerous people in our week stay having issues with pool beds not secured. We couldnt book late check out as hotel was booked out...our flight was 11pm so we had to be out of room by 11am...We asked for shower room and were told by another rude receptionist there was none but We could use the outdoor shower by the pool.! Our bags were stored in unlocked baggage room. I emailed before stay to ask was there an iron in room and was advised there was..on arrival I was informed I could bring my clothes to an area in reception and use an iron they would set up there..iron couldnt be used in your room. Hotel is clean and comfortble but not 4 star and the best part of it was the free shuttle out of it every 15 mins. As old town is a good 20 min walk. Wouldnt go back there"
