"On the whole, this isn't a bad hotel but there are so many little things that could improve it. Certainly the foyer/reception area is lovely, the dining room is also nice. The pool is great, with good facilities and excellent service from the staff. It's kept meticulously clean. The other grounds (Lemon Garden) are well looked after. Breakfast is really good - there's pretty much everything you could want, from cooked (boiled and scrambled eggs, beans, sausages, mushrooms etc.), to cold meats and cheeses, bread & butter, fruits, yoghurts, even made-to-order pancakes and omelettes - couldn't fault it. Our room was cleaned every day and clean towels provided. You can also get free beach towels from the beach bar every day. Those are the good bits. What let it down, in our case, were the room facilities: 1. There is no "information sheet" in the room telling you how everything operates, what times meals are (these are recited to you by Reception staff on arrival), or how the air conditioning works - it turned out, we found out after 24 hours, it only comes on when the doors are all shut and the curtains pulled together. We spent our first night with our balcony door open to try and cool the room down! 2. There are no USB ports in the room and not many sockets. As my hearings aids required charging overnight I had to quickly go and buy a special socket to plug them into or I would have spent the week deaf! 3. Our TV never worked. At first it wouldn't come on at all; after we spoke to Reception about it, it would come on, but we could not get any channels at all. Not that we wanted to sit and watch TV, but we like it as background noise when we are in the room. 4. There are strict instructions in the lift that you MUST NOT dry clothes on the balcony - but there are no clothes airers of any sort provided, so we had no choice. 5. Our shower heads desperately needed de-scaling - the water squirts everywhere around the shower except down onto you! 6. Our sink seemed permanently half blocked and took ages to drain after, say, cleaning your teeth. 7. The flat roof that our balcony was right next to was a mess, covered in paint drips, dirty and it even had some weeds growing from it. A few pot plants would not go amiss just to hide it. 8. Ours was described as a Garden Room (as opposed to an Annexe Room) but it did not look over the garden, which is at the back; it looked over the front and the very busy/noisy road. And then - the "entertainment"! Advertised as being on Weds, Fri & Sat until 10.30pm, our first night was a Wednesday. The entertainment is in the roof bar - which could be made much more appealing and was never more than half full. The entertainment that night consisted of two male singers who were very good - and, it turned out, were two of the waiters! On Friday night, we got up there at 9.45 to find a female singer ... who promptly stopped at 10pm! And on Saturday there was simply a man standing with his laptop, playing what sounded like his own Spotify choices! Given the age ranges of the guests that night, none of the music was very appropriate. And there is literally NOTHING to do in the hotel or in close walking distance, so decent entertainment (not that I'm normally big on entertainment) would have been nice. So we went into town every night, using the local No.008 bus - every 20 minutes, 2 euros. A tip: there is a shop across the road in the campsite (which is owned by the same person as the hotel), which is very useful and sells decent, cheap wine, amongst plenty of other things! It looks, as you approach, as if you cannot go in, but you can - just walk through. There is also a restaurant there which we tried, but our pizza was not great and the staff were positively rude and very ignorant."

"Room cleaning one of the worst. Our bedding had blood on from mosquito bites and the cleaners just turned it over! Shower slippy and bathroom floor for those infirm. I nearly slipped. They do minimal cleaning. The pool has steps which are not warned about inside the pool halfway., be careful. Big chunks missing from the edging which is sharp and bare wires exposed. Full of bits of masonry inside on the bottom. Towels not available after 3:30 No instructions in the room about using the phone, check out times etc. nothing at all. Busy road and no safe walking path to leave hotel. Too far away from the town as there is nowhere to go near hotel. WiFi terrible… can’t watch BBC news as it’s off and on buffering constantly so doesn’t work well on devices at all and just sits there spinning. There’s some much better hotels in Sorrento itself. This one is just hanging on with the basic maintenance. Evening meals?? We were served spinach every night for 6 nights as the main vegetable and it was horrible. It was a budget hotel, ok if you are not wanting any frills"

"Stayed here for 5 days, there is no chance this hotel is 4 star. The room was clean but basic. The balcony had a wasps nest in so couldn’t use the balcony. Asked for a double room and got a twin, the food is not the best but was okay. The bar is expensive and you pay at the end of stay. The hotel is far out of the town and you need the shuttle to get around. Would visit the area again but definitely not this hotel."
