Villa Orabelle

"The hotel was every but as pictured on the web site. It was beautifully decorated, the grounds were beautiful and the view of the Adriatic is truly amazing. True, there is a huge and very much out of place mega resort next door which our room overlooked, but that did not diminish the experience for us. We booked a Superior Sea View Room with Balcony. The room was large, super clean and the bathroom was large and modern. The air conditioner was a wall mounted mini-split unit and was just adequate during a heat wave. The pools, while beautiful, are quite small and the lounger space was very limited at certain times. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful and the menu was extensive. There are only 19 rooms so the staff was very attentive and did an excellent job. It should be noted that we were part of a small group that occupied 6 of the rooms and each of us thought this was one of the best hotels we had stayed in. One of the other rooms had issues with their A/C, but other than that we were completely satisfied by the Villa Orabelle, The location was also excellent. I selected this hotel because it was not in the old town but walkable to it. We were a group of 12 people in our 60s. The walk to town was mostly downhill along the coast with great views and was maybe 20 minutes from Pile Gate. Sometimes we would take a taxi back after dinner (20ish Euros one way) as the walk back was pretty tiring uphill and after a long day."

"It is difficult to rate our experience at Hotel Orabelle, as it was a very mixed one. We stayed for three nights with our children in the rooms with a jacuzzi and terrace. On the positive side, the hotel is beautiful, clean and offers very good service. It is well located, about a 25-minute walk from the city centre, and the staff were very helpful. Breakfast on the terrace was a lovely experience, the room was comfortable, and the jacuzzi was definitely a great feature. However, there were quite a few disappointing aspects, especially considering the price and the standard of the hotel. First, the hotel is extremely close to a very large and quite noisy resort, which unfortunately takes away much of the feeling of staying somewhere special. The restaurant is excellent for breakfast but In the evening, the menu is rather limited and quite sophisticated, which makes it difficult for a family looking for a more relaxed dinner. But the biggest issue by far was the air conditioning in our room. The noise was absolutely unbearable and repeatedly woke up the entire family during the night. We actually had to sleep with earplugs. We reported the issue to reception but no solution could be find… Overall, a beautiful hotel with many positive aspects, but unfortunately not the relaxing and comfortable experience we expected for the price."

"Very small hotel, but so gorgeous. Around a 20/25 min walk around the path following the sea to the old town was a very pleasant walk and felt safe. Breakfast was very tasty, lots of options. We only used one pool because the other was full the two times we attempted to use- was a stunning view of the sea like an infinity pool. Room was nice, small but had everything you could need. Would recommend getting a balcony because it’s an on ceiling window which can be a bit claustrophobic. Would recommend this hotel just for how beautiful the location was."
