Admiral Grand Hotel

"Overall a very nice hotel. Lovely rooms not a great view from balcony but nice inside. Breakfast was ok usual offerings cooked breakfast, cake, pastries. Would have been nice for live pancakes and waffles station. Evening meal was very good. Lots of meats and fish and veg dishes. As others have said 5 euros for not even a litre of still water is very high. Lovely pool areas inside and out and no problem getting a sun lounger. My biggest complaint was the charge for tennis. I was the only person to use it in the whole week i was there and I know why....24 euros a hour!!!! Same sort of money to hire canoes and sup board. Been to 5* all over the world and many offer these free. did complain about it but got the cooperate answer it is advertised on website... Thanks And to top it of the tennis racquets had bare wood handle as so old and balls had no bounce. Evening very quite but knew this before after reading other reviews. Would not bring young kids here as little entertainment for them and no kiddies corner at meal times."

"Lovely hotel, fabulous views, great staff, good food ! We had a wonderful week here, and would recommend this hotel to family and friends. It’s set in a beautiful bay with walks along the water’s edge in both directions. It’s only a 40 minute bus journey into Dubrovnik on a stunning route, with very reliable buses on a good timetable. You can get a bus back from Dubrovnik late at night. Slano its self is a very quiet resort, only a handful of restaurants & one bar which is very small & a couple of cafe type properties. The hotel is modern & stylish. The rooms are very comfortable with the majority having wonderful views across the bay. The bathroom is a reasonable size with a bath & shower over it. The showers were very good. The cleaners looked after the room well & we had clean towels most days. Sitting on the balcony watching the small cruise ships coming in and out was a real delight. We requested a room on the top floor & the hotel kindly accommodated our request and upgraded us from a side sea view to a full sea view ! We really appreciated their kind gesture. We were half board and food the food very enjoyable with lots of variety. Breakfast had the usual choices. There was a lady on the egg station who made really good Omelette’s. We also thought the opening time for breakfast was excellent. You could eat from 6:30 until 10:30. We like fish & every day there was fish choices with the starters & at least 3 types of fish or meat to choose from for your main meal. Everything was cooked really well including the beef which was pink in the middle. There was a reasonable selection of desserts, but the cheese board selection was very popular, this often had to be replenished. All the staff in the restaurant were really welcoming and did a great job. I do agree with other people who have said about the fact you have to pay for bottled water, I think you should be able to have tap water with your meal. The drinks were a reasonable price & again a decent selection. Towards the end of the week we were there the hotel got busier and there was more food to choose from. The outside area is very nice with decent sun beds & plenty of parasol’s. Again it was early in the season so it was quiet. The pool was empty when we arrived but it was filled & sun beds put out around it on the 3rd day, this wasn’t a problem because the sea was lovely to swim in. You do need shoes for the beach because it is a pebble beach. We didn’t use the indoor pool but it looked very nice & relaxing in there. You can get pool/ beach towels every day. There was a singer on the Saturday night & a lady who played the piano on the Monday night. We sat with a couple of very good cocktails and listened to them. There are a few settee’s along the ground floor of the hotel where you can sit and relax. Also 2 small lounge areas. The reception staff were very friendly and informative. "We stayed here for a week end May 2026. It was our first time in Croatia and we absolutely loved it! I had read the reviews prior to booking, so was prepared that the hotel was in a quiet spot. The transfer to the airport was in a minibus ( only 6 of us), which was great and we got to see the stunning coastline. About 50/60 minute transfer. The hotel is lovely and spacious. Rooms are perfect with complimentary dressing gown and slippers. Rooms cleaned daily including towels. Hotel staff were extremely friendly. Especially restaurant staff who worked very hard. The restaurant manager was exceptionally friendly and greeted us on every occasion. The food was fabulous always different varieties and plentiful. Shout out to the chef at breakfast who made the best omlettes (apologies I should of noted her name). The hotel is right on a rocky beach but this didn’t bother us. We always got a sun lounger and the pool area was great too. As was the indoor pool. Beach towels provided. Slano itself is fairly quiet with a few bars/restaurants and you can walk along the promenade to the harbour, or just watch the small cruise ships as they dock overnight. Local bus €3.70 one way to Dubrovnik (about 30 mins) and takes you to the old town. We did the city walls and caught the bus back (opposite side of the road). I recommend purchasing a Dubrovnik pass as you get entry to the city walls, fort and museums. Cable car quite expensive €30 each but spectacular views. We booked a trip to Bosnia, Mostar and waterfalls through get your guide. Highly recommend as more than half the price as a tour operator and no issues at all! Definitely do that again! We would definitely recommend this lovely hotel and would not hesitate to return. The only thing that was slightly odd was that you only get one coffee sachet and tea bag (no milk)! They are not refilled which is odd for a 5 star ."
