"We stayed at the DoubleTree Amsterdam Centraal Station for 3 nights during our Europe trip with our two little kids and had a great stay.
I'm a Hilton Diamond member and originally booked a King Corner City & Canal room. Before we even arrived, we were upgraded to a One Bedroom Suite, which was a really nice surprise. Throughout our Europe trip I honestly felt like my Hilton Diamond status was recognized and valued more than it typically is back home in the U.S., and this hotel was a great example.
LOCATION: 10/10
Hard to beat. Amsterdam Centraal is about a 5 minute walk away and we actually did it with two babies, a stroller AND all our luggage lol. Once you're here, Amsterdam is very easy to explore on foot or you can catch public transportation right outside. We also felt very safe throughout our entire stay.
SERVICE: 10/10
Everyone we interacted with was friendly and extremely kid friendly. The entire breakfast staff was great, especially Roberto, who we saw every morning and was always there to help us. They really made our family feel at home. Check-in was also easy and friendly, and the warm DoubleTree cookies were perfect after traveling.
BREAKFAST: 10/10
One of my favorite parts of the hotel. The breakfast spread was huge with plenty of choices, plus you can order things like omelets and crepes through the app.
ROOM: 8/10
Our suite was on the corner overlooking the water/canal and the view was great. My only complaint was the unusual shape of the corner room. It made the suite feel smaller than I expected, and the bathroom was also pretty small for my liking. We managed just fine, but I'd probably request a different room layout next time.
CLEANLINESS: 10/10
The hotel and our room were very clean. No complaints at all here.
ATMOSPHERE: 10/10
Really liked the atmosphere throughout the hotel. The decorations in the lobby and restaurant areas were well picked and nicely displayed. It felt modern and welcoming without being too much.
NOISE LEVEL: 19/10
This was important to us since we had two little kids. For being in such a central location, it wasn't loud at all. We had no issues with noise during our stay.
FAMILY FRIENDLY: 10/10
Traveling with two little kids, a stroller and luggage isn't always easy, but this hotel made things simple. The staff were great with our kids, breakfast had tons of choices and the location made getting around very easy.
VALUE: 10/10
I felt we got great value for what we paid. Between the location, included breakfast, service and our pre-arrival Diamond upgrade to a One Bedroom Suite, I was very happy with what we got for our money.
DIAMOND RECOGNITION: 10/10
Our upgrade was confirmed before we even arrived, breakfast was excellent and I actually felt like my Diamond status meant something here. One of the better Hilton Diamond experiences I've had.
OVERALL: 9/10
We had a great experience and I'd stay here again. The only thing I'd change next time would probably be requesting a different room layout instead of the corner suite."
