B and b Hotel Geneva Airport

"Good basic hotel near the airport with free shuttle bus, note the shuttle bus has both B&B and Intercity written on the outside. Reception staff friendly and provided the free transport pass, tram stop only a few minutes away. The rooftop was nice for a sit down with Mountain View. Breakfast was good with general hot and cold dishes. The room was clean with a good size bathroom, tv, twin bed was quite small with not much storage and no fridge."

"This hotel is in a new complex of several hotels not far from the end of the runway of Geneva airport. It offers everything you need from an airport hotel and was surprisingly inexpensive for Geneva. There is a regular shuttle bus from the airport and it is also close to the tram line into Geneva city centre. The shopping centre Balexert is just along the road. We arrived around 10pm and were wanting a snack: there was only a bar in the hotel itself but within the hotel complex there were other eateries, and we found the Swiss Chalet restaurant still open. Their breakfasts are quite expensive but there is a well-stocked Co-op almost next door where there are ample options for breakfast fare. The multi-national staff on reception were very sociable and helpful, especially those with browner skin:-). I was able to leave my bags in the hotel during the day after checking out. As it was a heat wave when we were there we appreciated the air conditioning."

"Overall, I was satisfied with the quality of the room, which was spacious and comfortable. It generally meets the needs of a person in a wheelchair. However, the space in the bathroom was a bit too cramped, with a sink placed too close to the toilet, which limits maneuverability and ease of use. On the other hand, at the time of booking, I was initially offered this accessible room at a higher rate than a standard room, on the grounds that it was a "family" category. I had to contact the hotel chain's headquarters to put an end to this discriminatory practice. Furthermore, the online booking system is not optimal: it does not automatically allow access to the standard rate for an accessible room, thus forcing disabled people to contact the hotel directly to negotiate the price. I hope this episode will help change practices so that accessible rooms are offered at the same rate as standard rooms. 👉 Accessibility is a right, not a paid option."
