"Our first impression of the hotel was "wow." The reception area was modern, clean, and welcoming. The receptionist spoke English, which was helpful.
The rooms were spacious and comfortable, although the bathrooms felt quite small. As someone who has previously managed a hotel, I pay close attention to cleanliness, and I believe this is an area where improvements could be made, especially for a 4-star property. Some towels were stained or torn, and on a few occasions the housekeeping staff replaced the bin bags without opening them properly, which created inconvenience.
The food was probably the biggest disappointment for us. My husband is much less picky than I am, yet there were several days when even he struggled to find dishes he enjoyed. The children were happy enough with chips, pasta, fruit, and ice cream, but the variety and quality of the main meals could be improved.
Unfortunately, after returning home, our daughter started feeling unwell three days later. Her condition worsened, and we eventually had to take her to the emergency department, where she was admitted overnight for further investigations. The doctors discovered that she had two types of bacteria in her stomach, one of them being E. coli. As she has never experienced any health issues of this kind before, we believe it is possible that she may have contracted it during our stay at the hotel, potentially from the food, as we noticed that some of the grilled items were not always cooked thoroughly. Of course, we cannot confirm the exact source, but this was a very concerning experience for our family.
A special mention goes to the lady preparing fresh breakfast items every morning. She was truly outstanding—friendly, hardworking, attentive, and she even remembered exactly how I liked my eggs. She deserves recognition for the excellent service she provides.
The outdoor pools were lovely, with plenty of sun loungers available throughout the day. The aquapark was also enjoyable, but unfortunately my son developed blisters after using the pool and slides. I noticed several other children with similar marks. When I reported this to reception, I was simply told that someone would clean the pool area and was offered some plasters. While I appreciated the apology, I felt the issue could have been handled with more concern and professionalism.
The bartenders were fantastic and made excellent drinks. Service could occasionally be a little slow, but the quality of the drinks made the wait worthwhile.
Another disappointment was the evening entertainment. Every night there was a show, but everything was conducted entirely in Spanish, with little to no effort to include international guests. Not even a brief welcome or explanation in English was provided. While we completely understand that the hotel caters to many Spanish-speaking guests, a few words in English would have helped make other visitors feel more included and welcome.
One thing that surprised us was the number of deposits required. Pool towels required a €10 deposit, a kettle required €10, and an iron required €20. In some cases, the items were not even available despite the deposit system. On a positive note, there are several shops directly across the road where you can easily buy food, drinks, clothes, and other essentials.
What disappointed me most was the checkout experience. Nobody asked how our stay had been or whether we had enjoyed our holiday. Given the issues we experienced, it would have been nice to feel that guest feedback was valued.
Overall, the hotel has some strong points, particularly the pool areas, bartenders, and breakfast staff. However, due to the food quality, housekeeping standards, the health concerns we experienced, and the way some issues were handled, I would not choose to return in the future."
