"Location & views are everything here. Beautiful sea views, instant access to the ocean, great for snorkelling. Quiet grassy areas for sunbeds away from pool noise was heavenly. Comfy sunbeds, although the frame of the sunbeds were often a bit grubby, lolly/icecream residue of them. Despite having my 11yr old with me, I loved the more adult quiet theme of this hotel, no sunbed wars or loud music around pool. Bed in the room was a comfy memory foam, room was big & clean, I have ocd & always clean the room myself before I unpack, its the first time I didnt find anything dirty. Room also had lots of storage. Reception staff were very helpful & never had to wait long to be seen. Buffet restaurant was good quality, lots of choice, with lovely inside/outside sea views. Was shocked to have someone run at me 1st morning at breakfast & a shove a hand in front of me quite aggressively to stop me from filling up my flask with water for the room. Ive never had that before, but no way washe going to let me use the water tap. He then proceeded to try & stop me filling 2 glasses with water, stating im not to use the glasses to fill my bottle either. Water is not provided in the room. There is a great small supermarket right opposite hotel. Water was cheap but could be a pain having to head out in 37 degree heat when you were gasping.
I loved renting the hotel paddle boards, 20 euro for 2 hrs, bargain, we loved going up the coast a little jumping off to snorkel. Hotel car park was large but often full, however I always found a spot right outside in the residential area. Area felt very safe & respectable. I had a car & went out most nights as no real kids entertainment at hotel (again a bonus for me) Highly recommend Cala Bona (7mins) / Cala Ratjada even better (20 mins). Calla Millor (10 mins) is very lively but has a bit more of a "brits abroad" kind of vibe, but great for kids, lots of toot shops to look in which always please's my daughter.
Bathroom was very tired & dated, rooms while big & clean & functional really do modernising. Shower itself was bad, tiny 10cm round shower head, with lots of small jets, two of which were SO powerful they were painful to stand under, cant say the showering experience was an enjoyable one. Toilet is very low to the floow, like small child height. Hot water was a little limited. A very late or very early shower meant tepid water. Some restaurant staff were quite abrupt/a little agressive. Others were lovely. Restaurant staff should have wine knowledge training. None knew what wines were sweet/dry etc. Pool bar/restuarant needs some serious attention. Staff friendly. Nice setting but wait times are far too long, id have used the pool bar lots more if service had been quicker. Quality of some very simple drinks were awful. Pizzas were amazing, the chips were edible but pretty rubbish. And if the staff cant make a proper/deacent iced latte then that needs addressing, its a daily staple for many in hot weather. I cant express just how bad the one I ordered was. I literally just left it on the counter untouched. Ideally there would be some flexibilty with food orders, I asked if I could have the tuna sandwich as a tuna baguette, to be told 100% it was not possible. Yet they had baguettes & sandwiches (with other fillings) on the menu. While the pool was lovely, with gogeous views of the sea & pine/palm trees, its not a huge pool and a bit more care over cleanleness/tidyness of the pool floor/area is needed. The pool surface is a little slippery so make sure your children dont run. There was a babies hat that someone had obviously lost, that didnt move from the wall of the pool shower area in 8 days! Drinks service in buffet restaurant was very slow, again I think they are missing a trick on making money here by being so slow.
All in all, I would definately stay here again, just hoping the rooms will have been modernised by the time I do."
