"This is our second visit to El Mirador this year and once you've been once this wont come as a shock to you, its nigh on perfect.
The building is stunning, the public areas relaxing and comfortable, the rooms are superb all with a sea view, the food is glorious, but the one thing that really makes it special is the staff. They are all trained to such a high standard, nothing is too much trouble, they are always willing to help but, on this occasion, I would like to specially mention Roberto and Jonathan in the bar, as soon as you sit down they are across to take your order, always with a smile and then without being intrusive are always there if you need a top up; Orlando at the pool who runs around moving sun-beds to exactly where you want them and then bringing mattresses, covers, towels and parasols, and then continues to move them around as you want during the day; Leticia both at breakfast and one evening at the Pergola restaurant, great service, great knowledge of both the food and the wine and all with the adage of 'take your time, you're not here to rush'; and Stefano, also at the Pergola who offers so much advice and is so proud of the food they offer that he excites you when he is describing what you are going to eat. There are many others that make this a very special place but I cannot mention them all however, what is important is that on this trip we had the opportunity to meet the new General Manager and her words make us believe that the standards that have been set by the out going General Manager will be maintained moving forward - great news.
We were on the 4th floor and the rooms on this floor have recently been refurbished, as you walk through the door into the small hall area the first word that comes to mind is WOW. The main room is split into two with a huge bed with beautiful Egyptian cotton sheets and then a second lower area with a couch, coffee table, huge bar area which includes, as well as the normal fridge, a wine fridge. Off the entrance hall is also a walk-in wardrobe / dressing room and then off the bedroom is a huge bathroom with separate walk-in shower, a bath tub and his and hers sinks, amazing.
One tiny area that should be mentioned is that in the bedroom opposite the bed is a fantastic dressing table with stool together with an electric socket for the hair dryer, the issue my wife had was that there was no mirror, they have swopped it for a second huge TV. There are many mirrors in the small entrance hall but this does not have a stool or electricity. This is something I think management should look to address and Im sure they will.
We met so many people that where repeat guests, some up to 30 times, and we can see why. It is though the El Mirador have combined the service element from the 40's and 50's when service meant service, with all of the creature comforts of the 2020's and the icing on the cake, the staff that can, and do, deliver both. Thank you for a fantastic holiday and for your wonderful hotel, we will be returning."
