"MY REVIEW OF ONE RESORT AQUA PARK & SPA, TUNISIA 🇹🇳
October 2026 | Family holiday | Party of 13 overall
This was our first visit to Tunisia and, if I’m completely honest, I went with slightly pessimistic expectations. We normally holiday in Egypt, so I knew I would naturally compare the two.
However, I was pleasantly surprised. ❤️
Is the hotel perfect? No. There are definitely things that could be improved, and a few things drove me absolutely mad 😂, but overall WE HAD A GREAT HOLIDAY and I would happily recommend the hotel and return.
✈️ ENFIDHA AIRPORT & TRANSFERS
We flew from Edinburgh with EasyJet. There was a slight delay on the way out, but otherwise the flight was easy.
Arriving at Enfidha was straightforward. Passport control only took around five minutes, our luggage came through quickly and the EasyJet transfer desk and bus were easy to find.
The transfer took around 45 minutes.
Our transfer driver wasn’t particularly welcoming. We put our own luggage on and took it back off while he stood smoking, so needless to say there was no tip coming his way, this was the same when we came back! 😂
On our return journey through Enfidha Airport, security was straightforward despite going through three checks. My only real complaint was that the breakfast food options were shocking!
📍 HOTEL & FIRST IMPRESSIONS
At first glance, the hotel makes a really good impression.
It isn’t Egypt, which is what I’m used to, but I found the hotel reasonably clean and well maintained. The resort isn’t massive either, which I actually liked because getting around was easy and you weren’t constantly walking miles from one area to another.
One thing that surprised us was that there were no all-inclusive wristbands.
🛎️ RECEPTION & CHECK-IN
We arrived at approximately 12:40pm, despite official check-in not being until 2pm, and were extremely lucky that our room was already available. We simply paid our tourist tax and were able to go straight to our room, unpack and get changed.
The reception staff were friendly and helpful.
Before travelling, I had messaged the hotel because I’d read that the children’s beds could be small. My teenage son is extremely tall, so I was concerned about this, but the hotel helped us and ensured he had a good-sized bed. I really appreciated that.
💰 TOURIST TAX
The tourist tax was 12 Tunisian dinars per person, per night, with children under 12 exempt. You pay this during check-in.
Important: Keep your receipt!
🛏️ OUR ROOM
We stayed in Room 138 in the apartment block, closer to the slides, and we were really pleased with the location. Despite being near the waterpark, we could barely hear anything happening elsewhere in the resort.
The room was spacious enough for the three of us and overall we were very happy with it.
• Cleanliness: Reasonably clean.
• Air conditioning: Worked perfectly.
• Beds: Quite hard, but I tend to expect this on holiday.
• Bedding: Duvet cover on the bed with a duvet available in the cupboard, although we certainly didn’t need it!
• Bathroom: My biggest complaint was the shower. It was rubbish! It took forever just to wash my short hair.
• Hot water: Plenty.
• TV: Available, although we never used it.
• Kettle: Provided, but no complimentary tea, coffee etc.
• Fridge: No issues, although remember the room electricity switches off when you remove your card, so don’t expect it to be freezing cold.
• Safe: Easy to use and worked without any problems.
🧹 CLEANLINESS
Overall, we were comfortable with the cleanliness of the hotel. The cleaners constantly seemed to be working and trying to keep on top of everything.
We always tidied up after ourselves, but I saw some families leaving an unbelievable mess behind them for the cleaners to deal with.
Personally, I think the cleaning staff are worth tipping. You could genuinely see how much they appreciated it. ❤️
❤️ STAFF
Overall, we had no major issues with the staff.
My initial impression of some of the bar staff wasn’t particularly good, as asking for a drink sometimes felt like you were asking for the world! However, looking across the whole holiday, our experience with staff was generally positive.
I particularly liked that staff weren’t pushy. If somebody approached you about something and you said, “No thank you”, they moved on. You can actually relax without constantly being pressured into buying something.
🏊 POOLS & WATERPARK
There aren’t a massive number of pools, but what they do have is good.
• 16+ pool: Usually extremely quiet.
• Gradually deepening pool: Great for adults and children and the water temperature was pleasant.
• Waterpark pool: Located beside the slides.
• There’s also a lazy river for children and a shallow pool.
The hotel wasn’t particularly crowded when we first arrived, although we visited before the school holidays began. It definitely became noticeably busier towards the end. I’d imagine the experience could be quite different during peak summer.
☀️ SUN LOUNGERS
We had absolutely no problem getting loungers around the waterpark. When we moved from the waterpark to the main pool on a couple of occasions, we were still able to find loungers.
Beach loungers tended to fill up quickly in the morning, but we could find spaces later in the day.
🏖️ BEACH TOWELS
Hotel towels are available for a refundable deposit of 20 Tunisian dinars per towel. You can exchange them for clean towels as often as necessary and receive your deposit back when you return them. Payment was also accepted in euros or US dollars.
🍽️ FOOD
Food is always subjective and everybody has different expectations.
Our first lunch wasn’t great and much of the food seemed cold. However, we’d arrived close to the end of lunch service, so I didn’t want to judge the whole holiday based on that.
Across the holiday, I found the food OK. The selection wasn’t enormous, but I managed to find something to eat every night. There were themed evenings and live music in the restaurant, which was a nice touch.
The snack bars were also open throughout the night, so there was always something available if you were hungry.
☕ MY BREAKFAST FRUSTRATION!
Trying to get a cup of coffee in the morning could be an absolute nightmare! The coffee machines constantly seemed to need attention or be out of action. This is definitely something the hotel could improve.
Another frustration was the drinks available with dinner, which seemed to be limited to soft drinks and water.
🌊 BEACH & WATER SPORTS
There were plenty of loungers and umbrellas on the beach, although they could fill quickly in the morning.
There are loads of water sports available directly from the beach, including jet skis, inflatables and parasailing.
My sister-in-law and I went parasailing and paid 150 dinars, which worked out at around £20 each at the time. We really enjoyed it! 🪂❤️
🏍️ EXCURSIONS
ALI BABA! 😂
Everything people say about him on the travel forums is true. You don’t need to find Ali Baba because Ali Baba will find you!
We booked a quad-bike excursion through him and everything went smoothly.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! ❤️
💰 CURRENCY
There’s a currency exchange service at the hotel, which makes changing money into Tunisian dinars really easy.
My advice would be don’t exchange all your money at once. Change smaller amounts as you need them. Tunisian dinars cannot be taken out of the country, so plan your spending carefully. Any remaining dinars can be exchanged back at the airport before departure.
🏹 CHILDREN & ACTIVITIES
There is a kids’ club with entertainers supervising children during certain hours, although we didn’t use it, so I can’t comment personally on what it’s like.
Children’s entertainment took place in the evenings from around 8:30pm, and the entertainment team seemed brilliant with the younger children.
My son is older, so the kids’ club wasn’t relevant to him, but he did try archery and planned to do darts as well. We just ran out of days!
🎭 ENTERTAINMENT
I’ll be honest. The evening entertainment was very hit and miss.
The entertainment team work extremely hard and also run plenty of activities around the pools during the day.
The lip-syncing during the Flashback show was awful! 😂 On the other hand, the Michael Jackson show was fantastic.
There’s plenty going on during the day too, but nobody forces you to join in. You can be as active or as lazy as you like.
🛍️ SHOPS
There are a few shops within the hotel selling souvenirs and general holiday essentials. Prices seemed reasonable, although we personally didn’t do much shopping and what we did buy we bought at the camel shop, which is a 20 minute walk. A market also comes to the hotel.
🦟 MOSQUITOES!
BRING MOSQUITO REPELLENT!
Honestly, don’t underestimate this one. The mosquitoes were terrible and we were covered in bites. This would be very high on my packing list if I returned.
🪳 BUGS
We personally didn’t have any issues with cockroaches in our room, although other members of our family group did report seeing them in theirs.
🍹 ALCOHOL & BARS
The beer got a thumbs-up from my husband. 🍺
The cocktails, however, were mostly awful in our opinion, with the exception of Love on the Beach, which was actually nice. The vodka was OK.
One of my biggest frustrations was that the waterpark and main pool bars didn’t serve a full range of alcohol. Beer and wine were available, but if you wanted something different you had to walk to another bar. For an all-inclusive resort, I found that really irritating.
Another issue was glasses. The bars regularly seemed to run out and staff would have to wash more before they could serve drinks.
My advice: bring big reusable cups! 🥤 You’ll thank yourself!
🚽 THE TOILET LIGHTS 😂
This deserves its own section because it annoyed me so much!
Many of the public toilet lights operate using sensors. Great idea... except they have a habit of switching off while you’re still sitting on the toilet! 😂
Hopefully that’s something the hotel can sort because it became ridiculously annoying.
💆♀️ SPA & TREATMENTS ❤️
The spa deserves a section of its own because it was absolutely amazing and genuinely one of my favourite parts of the holiday.
We paid £100 for two separate spa sessions, both lasting around two hours, which I thought was fantastic value for everything that was included.
Our first session included a facial, full-body massage and body scrub, along with treatments involving a wash and clay mask in the sauna. The treatments were explained as helping prepare the skin for tanning and helping the tan last longer.
It was such a relaxing experience and we came away feeling absolutely amazing.
We booked our second two-hour session for the day before flying home, and I’m so glad we did.
This one started with a mud treatment. They cover you in the mud, wrap you in plastic, put a heavy cover over you and leave you lying on a heated table.
I’ll be honest... I felt slightly like a lobster being boiled alive! 🦞😂
After that, I had a private single-person jacuzzi followed by another full-body massage and facial.
The massage this time was absolutely fantastic. I’m not going to pretend it didn’t hurt in places because it definitely did! 😂 But it is honestly the first massage I’ve ever had where I felt as though they had managed to get every bit of tension out from around my shoulder blades.
I walked out feeling incredible. Even a couple of days after coming home, my skin still feels amazing.
For me, this was absolutely worth the money and something I would 100% do again if I returned to the hotel.
⭐ Spa: 5/5
❤️ One of my highlights of the holiday
✅ Definitely recommend booking it
👎 THINGS I WOULD IMPROVE
• Shower pressure in our room.
• Coffee machines regularly being unavailable at breakfast.
• Food - Can be cold at times, some improvement in selection would be good
• Limited alcoholic drinks at some pool bars.
• Bars frequently running short of glasses.
• Limited drinks available during the evening meal.
• Sensor lights switching off in the toilets.
• Some of the evening entertainment.
None of these things ruined our holiday, but fixing some of them could make a big difference to the overall experience.
⭐ FINAL VERDICT: 4/5
This was our first visit to Tunisia, and I genuinely wasn’t sure what to expect.
I went into the holiday comparing everything with our previous holidays in Egypt and probably expecting to be disappointed.
I wasn’t.
The hotel isn’t perfect. There are things they could improve and there were definitely moments that frustrated me.
But when I look back at the holiday as a whole?
WE HAD A GREAT TIME! ❤️🇹🇳
There was plenty to do, we enjoyed the pools and waterpark, our room suited us perfectly, the staff generally left us to enjoy our holiday without being pushy, the spa was amazing, we had some brilliant experiences and, most importantly, we came home having really enjoyed ourselves.
⭐ My rating: 4/5
✅ Would I recommend One Resort Aqua Park & Spa? YES.
✅ Would I return to the same hotel? YES.
And considering how unsure I was about Tunisia before we went, I think that probably says more than anything else. ❤️☀️🇹🇳
P.S We have booked for next year as there was a great deal on, hopefully I can come back and amend this review with some improvements"
