Moods Boutique Hotel

"We stayed at the Modes Boutique Hotel for 5 nights, which was way too long! Right from the very first hour after checking in, we asked the front desk for a different, more spacious, and comfortable room. The room was dark and unpleasant. Water was leaking from the bathtub onto the floor, the only chair in the room was torn and heavily worn out, and the windows faced a residential building that was almost touching ours, forcing us to keep the curtains closed at all times for privacy. The front desk staff was unpleasant and patronizing. They showed zero flexibility, even after promising that we would move to a more spacious room in two days. This never happened, and every receptionist we spoke to just brushed us off; there was absolutely no follow-through on our request. On our final day, and only at our insistence, they finally replaced a lightbulb that illuminated the closet and the entrance—areas that had been left almost in complete darkness for the previous 4 days."

"This is rated as a 4* hotel. It isn’t. We were also unfortunate as the room smelt of cigarette smoke, and there was a broken wardrobe door. I have seen claims of a welcome drink, a restaurant, a mini bar, none of which were true. As a budget hotel, maybe fine, but not a 4.* hotel."

"A very middle-of-the-road hotel out of Prague city centre. It was a budget-friendly option but I wouldn’t say it was 4 stars, I’d say 3 at a push. The staff were very friendly and helpful at check-in, offering us a map of the city and recommending popular restaurants and attractions. But the hotel itself was a little bit outdated, and the standard of cleaning in the room was very hit and miss. The room itself was comfortable but a bit cramped, and the TV in our room didn’t work. There was a small bar downstairs but there was never anybody there, so it was difficult to actually order drinks. Breakfast was served in the bar area, which was quite cramped and the breakfast options were very limited, and there wasn’t any staff around to ask for assistance if needed. The hotel was about a 25 minute walk away from the old town, and transport links nearby surrounding the hotel weren’t the best. Overall I wouldn’t return myself, and although it was very affordable I do think there are better affordable options closer to the city centre."
