Le Meurice

"We stayed at the Four Seasons, Peninsula, Mandarin Oriental and the Raffles previously, and this time we chose Le Meurice. We booked a Deluxe Room for 2 nights and the room was lovely and quite spacious by Paris standards. The hotel is beautiful and full of history. The location was excellent. The Tuileries Garden was just across the street and there were many shops and cafes nearby. Breakfast was very enjoyable at the Alain Ducasse restaurant. We went again for dinner the night before our departure. The dining room was stunning both during the day and at night, and the dinner was wonderful. Service was friendly and good but we were disappointed with the housekeeping. At this price point, we expected excellent housekeeping. However, the bath gel in the shower and the tissues were not refilled and we ran out. In addition, the drinking glasses were not cleaned. The glasses were left where we had placed them with the teaspoon we used inside. These may seem like minor oversights but they should not happen at a 5 stars hotel, particularly one of this standard. Another issue we encountered was the transfer service. We arranged the hotel transfer for both arrival and departure. Since we were travelling with 2 large suitcases, we provided the dimensions to the concierge at booking. The concierge confirmed the car could accommodate our luggage. Unfortunately, the truck was too small for both suitcases. After waiting 15 minutes for the driver to find a solution, we were finally able to place one suitcase in the back seat. On the day of our departure, a larger car was arranged but it arrived late. Overall, our experience at Le Meurice fell short compared with what we had at the other hotels in Paris."

"To Tea at the Dali room. It’s a special thing and heavily promoted and expensive Revolves around patisserie from Cedric Grolet - also a social media star. The patisserie I will review separately The ‘experience’ was poorly managed; lots of young waiters and maitres?mulling around but no coherence - no management Teatime poorly structured; Grolet’s creations interspersed with madeleines, guggeltopf and brioche - which didn’t fit with the Grolets?! Definitely would not do this again"

"We wish we had greater superlatives for our wonderful stay and experience at elegant Le Meurice! Our room was supremely comfortable, luxurious and spotlessly clean. The bath was also spacious and gleaming, with his and hers sinks, a separate walk-in shower that included a rain shower head and handheld shower head, and a separate bathtub that also included a handheld shower head. Every restaurant at the hotel provides an elegant, delicious dining experience with superior service throughout. Thank you to all the staff at Le Meurice for your warm hospitality and personal service! We hope to return again often and soon."
