"Good transport links into the city centre, tram stop is at the front door of the hotel. Journey from the airport is straightforward and you get off at the station that is round the corner from the hotel, 5 minutes walk. Room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was ok, choices were standard. Check in and check out went smoothly."

"Stayed in a standard room, came here from NZ. Nothing in the room like a guest book to give information about your surroundings, restaurants or grocery shops in the area or even a map to help get around. No concierge here to help with questions, just reception staff. Some could be helpful and some not. Their breakfast is a huge spread, and the most bizarre thing only a side plate is used. I understand it is to stop people from taking too much food. Funny thing is saw people using three side plates so what does it achieve. After breakfast you clean up yourself. There is a bar, but no one but reception staff to serve. Had an incident where the reception lady would not serve people. She stated to the elderly gentleman x 3 if you want a drink go to the hotel next door. Of course I argued with her, have done hospitality for many many years and thought this was just ludicrous. I was assertive, not abusive as she has stated. If she had of been one of my staff members, she would not have lasted long. These people forget that they are the faces for a hotel which is important for clients. If you have someone unsmiling and uncooperative it's not good for the business. I feel I booked the wrong hotel, it was not right for me, but that is not to say someone else would feel the same.It lacks warmth and atmosphere. Also had a problem with room cleaning never got towels or bed making. Not a problem if you know the policy of the hotel. Nobody ever said about a door placard to put outside. Another reason for a guest book"

"Great stay at the Hampton. Stayed for four nights for a city break. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, good room service, quiet and they serve a great breakfast. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Good WiFi. The location was great with good transport links including buses, trans and the train station around the corner. Highly recommend!"
