The Athens Gate

"This is a lovely hotel in a very good location. It is close to the Acropolis and around the corner from the Plaka neighborhood. The Athens National Garden and Parliament are also within walking distance. Our room was located on the main street, however we had a view of the Temple of Zeus and The Panathenaic Stadium. Drivers in Athens do not use their car horns very much, so the noise was not terrible. The staff at the hotel is wonderful and very helpful. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. The only complaint is the provided hair dryer - it was terrible. Bring your own if hair is importantly to you. The breakfast buffet on the rooftop was amazing. They make many traditional Greek dishes, as well as the typical fare that many Americans are accustomed to. The coffee was also delicious! The best part is the view of the Acropolis. Be aware that the elevators are extremely small-if you are claustrophobic, you can get exercise by using the stairs. We would recommend this hotel to everyone."

"FANTASTIC LOCATION! Temple of Zeus is across the street, Acropolis is an easy walking distance, Plaka distric (shopping and eating) is around the corner! Just a perfect location to so many things. Beautiful view from our room of the Acropolis, and a delicious breakfast served in the AM. I'm still dreaming of their greek yogurt and fresh honeycomb! The front desk staff and others working there were always so friendly, nice and helpful. I have no regrets staying here!"
