Charming Sissi stay
Castello Village Resort has got bags of authentic Cretan charm – and it starts with its setting in the characterful fishing village of Sissi. Morning strolls to the harbour, coffees on the waterfront, and sheltered swims in the sea are all part and parcel of a stay in this sunny seaside spot.
The pool scene feels tailor-made for lazy days. There are two swim spots to choose from, including a sea-view number that might just be our favourite spot in the house. If you’re craving a bit of R&R, meanwhile, make a bee line for sister hotel Castello Boutique Resort & Spa, where pampering is always on the menu.
When hunger strikes, the buffet restaurant is on hand with spreads of local and international fare, dished up in atmospheric surroundings. We reckon dinner is best enjoyed on the terrace, where you can linger over dessert as the stars roll in – knowing you’ve nowhere to be in the morning. Bliss.
