Anastasia Hotel

"Stayed here last week with my family and my mum. Upon arrival we were gobsmacked at the hotel as it surpassed expectations. A fantastic mini-complex with aunthentic Greek vibes. Beautiful rooms overlooking the pool and sea view in the distance with the mountains behind you. Throughout our stay the staff were lovely and welcoming and Jurgus was an entertaining presence. A great selection of foods at breakfast and evening dinner, spoilt for choice so helped myself to a few dishes and gained a few pounds. Nightly entertainment was fun(Call me the bingo and Quiz master!). Everywhere was immaculately clean and a good mix of age groups and nationalities were in attendance each being treated the same. Peaceful throughout the day when having pool days. Only a 15/20 minute walk from Malia town and a selection of lovely beaches. Been missing it since we returned Saturday night. "booked last minute but was very surprised at this hotel. 3 ppools poolside bar entertainment nightly. we were half board,,breakfast was ok.never stopped for main meal as intended going to resteraunts anyway. a 15 minute walk to beach and main town but all on the flat. rooms were ok bed was a bit hard. good atmosphere and staff great. i read some reviews before going and they weren't good but am a beliver on you cant please everyone. for people looking for a bit of sun,2 happy hours,entertainment from singers,bingo, quizzes and ☀️ this is a bargin."

"We booked an 11 night stay, on impulse, a few weeks before we travelled. At the time, the most recent reviews for the hotel were very poor. I’m glad to say we were pleasantly surprised by what we found. Firstly, this is a three star hotel; so don’t expect too much. It does the basics fine. Our room was clean (sheets changed every three days, towels every other day), the shower was great and the air conditioning worked. Yes the rooms were dated, but who goes on holiday to admire interior furnishings. The food was plentiful and varied (at least for dinner), basic but well cooked. Like a lot of hotels, it’s a buffet so if you turn up at the end of the evening you risk cooling, dried out food. There is a pool and hotel bar, which are basic and functional. The staff were friendly, helpful and most spoke decent English; the cleaner for our room was an absolute gem. The hotel is situated midway between Stalis and Malia, each being a 20-30 minute walk from the hotel. You have to cross a busy main road to get to the beach; though there is an underpass you can use, which is difficult for those with mobility issues. Whilst there, we spoke with numerous people who holiday regularly at the Anastasia, so it has clearly been maintaining standards for a number of years. In summary, a cheap and cheerful hotel. As long as you’re not expecting five star luxury, you’ll have a good stay."
