"We recently stayed here for our holiday and overall had a mixed experience. There were definitely some positives, but also several areas that need improvement. We also felt that the hotel did not live up to its advertised 5-star standard, and none of us thought this was actually a 5-star experience. Unfortunately, there was no iron in the room, and when we called reception to ask for one, we were told they couldn’t guarantee they had any available. The rooms were also quite noisy, and we could hear a lot of noise coming from the rooms above us, which made it difficult to properly relax at times. Housekeeping was inconsistent. On one of the days our room was hardly cleaned at all — the bins weren’t emptied, dirty glasses were left behind, and the bed had been made very poorly. Cleanliness around the hotel in general also seemed lacking. Almost every time we walked back to our room there was rubbish left out along the outside paths leading to the rooms. One morning on the way to breakfast there were still lots of glasses left around seating areas and on the bar, many with drinks still in them from the night before. Around the pool area, the tiles were extremely slippery. We saw several people, including children, slipping over, which felt quite unsafe. The staff overall came across as quite unfriendly. Very few smiled or greeted guests when walking around the hotel, and at times it felt like guests were more of an inconvenience than welcomed. The food was what you would typically expect from an all-inclusive buffet. The omelettes at breakfast were made quite quickly and carelessly, although they did taste fine. The cocktails, however, were very good, but there didn’t seem to be enough staff working the bars, so waiting times were often long. The biggest disappointment food-wise was our final meal in the meat restaurant, which took over two hours from start to finish. At one point we waited around 40 minutes just for our table to be cleared and for someone to take our dessert order. The restaurant in general also felt overcrowded, with constant queues at breakfast and dinner times and not enough seating for the number of guests staying at the hotel. On a more positive note, the ice cream station was great, the kids’ play area was good, and the padel courts were excellent and very easy to book through the app, which we really liked. There were definitely parts of the hotel that families would enjoy. We do think the children’s pool should be heated like the main pool though, as it was noticeably colder. One other maintenance issue was that the aerial in our bedroom didn’t work, meaning we couldn’t watch the TV during our stay. Overall, while there were some enjoyable aspects to the holiday, there are several service, cleanliness, and maintenance issues that would need improving before we would return."
