Kalidonio Apartments

"Stayed for 11 nights at the end of August with my wife. For the price it was a great find. For the first week there was no problems with sun beds but in the second week a number of couples and families arrived placing towels on the beds in the sun, however there were still beds in the shade, (the far side of the pool gets the sun all day, until late afternoon, the near side gets the sun in the afternoon. The pool area was kept clean and never overcrowded. The rooms were simple, cleaned daily and towels and bedding were changed frequently. The beds were firm but comfortable. The bar closes at 19-00 serves basic food and drinks. The staff were very helpful. Location is superb being 5 minutes from the strip, 10 minutes walk from the beach which is superb and you can walk along the beach to Laganas which is a 3 mile walk, (take plenty of water). There’s entertainment in at least 3 bars, karaoke at the Shamrock and food is excellent with a multitude of restaurants to choose from. We have stayed in the Athena apartments, Ionian Blue but liked this one best. Most guests are couples 50-70 with a few younger couples and families. Many guests return each year. We would have happily re-booked but couldn’t find any rooms but will be returning to Kalamaki next year. Don’t bother booking transfers in Kalamaki, taxis are currently only €15 each way. Best entertainment bars the Venue and Antonio’s. Best football bar Corner 45. Best Kareoke the Shamrock. Favourite food bars, Sizzle and Grill, Ambrosia and many others."

"Had a great stay here in July. The place is lovely and clean, no sunbed wars at the beautifully quiet pool, spaces available all day. The snack bar run by Ruth is ideal, great for breakfast and lunch and Mythos on draught. The team work tirelessly to make everyone's holiday perfect. The main street with lots of bars and restaurants is less than 10 minute walk away as is a beautifully quiet beach. Very rare I would want to return somewhere, often wanting to see new places but I would love to return here."

"The hotel is ideally located just a short stroll from a beautiful sandy beach and a lively main road lined with a great selection of restaurants and bars. It is also convenient for booking local activities, as boat trips, quad biking, or car and bike rentals are all easily arranged nearby. There is no need to wake up at the crack of dawn to claim a sunbed, as we always found some available by the pool. The pool is a good size for a refreshing dip and gets quite deep at one end. The surrounding area is well maintained, with palm trees providing a lovely, relaxing atmosphere. Watching the house martins swooping overhead added to the peaceful setting. The beach offers sunbeds for hire (two for €20), and the sand is soft underfoot. It is also a nesting site for loggerhead sea turtles, so parts of the beach may occasionally be off-limits, which is a nice reminder that you are sharing the area with some incredible wildlife."
