Leonardo Boutique Hotel Budapest M Square

"We recently stayed at this hotel for 7 nights. First, I would like to mention the positive aspects of our experience. The location was excellent — within walking distance to restaurants, shops, and entertainment, which made exploring the area very convenient. We also appreciated the lighting design in the room. It was thoughtfully planned, bright when needed, but also warm and cozy in the evenings. However, for a property categorized as a boutique hotel, we were disappointed by the lack of basic amenities and the overall maintenance and cleanliness standards. Unlike most boutique hotels we have stayed at, the room only provided a generic soap, with no shampoo, conditioner, or body lotion. The bathroom trash can was extremely small and unfortunately appeared moldy. We also missed the usual comforts commonly offered even by standard hotels, such as plush towels, bathrobes, slippers, and small bathroom essentials like cotton swabs, cotton pads, or a shower cap. Additionally, the coffee table in the room was broken, and housekeeping service was inconsistent. On several occasions, the coffee mugs were not cleaned or replaced, and additional coffee supplies and stirrers were not replenished. Overall, the room did not appear to be cleaned thoroughly, as we noticed dirty spots on the mirrors and in the bathroom area. The air conditioning was also inconvenient. In order to make the room cooler, we had to contact the front desk, and there was not always someone available to assist. Most concerning was the strong sewage smell that we experienced every single day upon returning to our room, and sometimes even in other parts of the hotel. Unfortunately, this made our stay far less pleasant than we had hoped. While the hotel has a great location and some thoughtful design elements, the lack of cleanliness, maintenance, amenities, and comfort did not meet our expectations for a boutique hotel experience."

"Here now. Heating does not work and room is freezing. Construction outside window which is very noisy. Hotel smells of sewerage. All walls, floors and furniture grubby and feels unclean. Can hear everything outside of our room and feels like a student hostel. One small pillow each which is minute and quilts very thin. Feels more like a motel. Radiator in bathroom not working either and its freezing. Outside it is -1 degrees c and inside it feels the same."
