"Ok, this place has a location and view that are just unbelievable. You are overlooking the small harbor of Recco, picture postcard views. Make sure to get a room with balcony for full experience, as sunsets with a bottle of wine are fantastic. The boat shuttle is in front of you to day trip to Camogli and beyond. Fantastic restaurants in walking distances, as is grocery store with beer and wine to stock your fridge. Stairs lead down to free beach in between two private beaches. Waterfront cafes surround you. Very helpful staff, they even printed tickets for upcoming concert in Rome for us. Recco is seriously underrated as a stop, and as a result it’s mostly Italians and few Americans, which is exactly what you want on the Italian Riviera. One of the few hotels where I was almost crying when I left it was so enjoyable. I’d recommend three day minimum stay to pull back the tempo of a hectic Italian vacation and genuinely relax. Cannot wait until next time to return!"

"Wonderful location - the view from the room across the bay was stupendous hence the room price imo obscene! Wonderful terrace, empty + bar and restaurant empty + no breakfast - parking not free - e mail reception very poor! Late night noise echoing up from the bar and resturant below caused restless night! Shower awful and nearly cast***ted myself on the toilet seat! Recco very busy, bar reports to follow! As a professional in the hospitality industry to have an establishment run in this way these days stuns me! However, the staff - Sabrina, Naomi, Chloe and Franco were charming - lucky the owner didnt appear, too ashamed probably!"

"Hotel Elena is a good option for one night in Recco, especially for those aiming to spend some time later in San Fruttuoso. The location is excellent, with a view (enjoyed by all rooms, I think) on the harbor and on the Portofino mount and park, western side. The rooms are fine, maybe not renovated too recently but with a working wifi, A/C, minifridge, thus the basic amenities. Curiously there is no breakfast due to the pandemic situation, which is an issue I found only in this hotel so far (getting an agreement with a nearby cafe could be a nice touch). There are stairs connecting the hotel with the sea promenade and parking is available (for a fee), even though it can be found for free in the "corso Garibaldi" (very pompous name for a very narrow dead end road) nearby. A bit expensive but this is Liguria. Recommended for a short stay, no more."
