Lake Garda with a medieval glow
Lazise is one of Lake Garda’s prettiest little crowd-pleasers, wrapped in medieval walls and set right on the water’s edge. It’s all cobbled lanes, colourful harbour scenes, lakeside cafés and mountain-backed views, with enough charm to make a simple gelato stroll feel like an event.
The old town’s compact and wonderfully wanderable. Potter through its gates, browse boutique shops, or follow the promenade for lake views that keep interrupting your plans in the best way. Beach days are easy, too, with pebbly shores and clear water nearby, while boat trips across the lake open up postcard stops like Bardolino, Garda and Sirmione.
Expect food to be classic Lake Garda goodness: fresh lake fish, handmade pasta, risotto, olive oil, local wines and long dinners on terraces where the sunset does half the hosting. Families have big hitters close by, too, including Gardaland, Caneva Aquapark and Movieland Park. Lazise is perfect if you want a lake break with charm, convenience and a little Italian theatre. Swim in the morning, explore by boat in the afternoon, then settle in for pasta by the harbour. Bellissimo, basically.
