Hotel Royal Village

"We had a lovely holiday at the Royal Village. Its up a short hill from the resort but there is a mini bus taking you back a forward The rooms themselves were basic but clean and view from balcony was amazing. My only little annoyance was no tea making facilities in the room. I drink tea constantly so a little kettle r would have been good. We were half board and the food was outstanding. Cabonara and Tiramasu to die for. There was a separate italian restaurant on sight which you could use at no extra cost. The pools and hotel grounds were beautifully kept and the staff were helpful and pleasant. All in all it was an amazing experience which I would recommend"

"We stayed in the main hotel that has recently been refurbished. It was very clean and comfortable with a modern design. We only used the pool on this side of the hotel which had beautiful views. Again it was well kept, clean and tidy. It’s not heated so was absolutely freezing but that was not a bad thing on the really hot days. Yes, it’s a family hotel so expect children playing in the pool. If you want peace and quiet then you should book an adult only hotel. The indoor pool was ok, quite small and you have to pay extra for the spa. Food was ok, it lacked variety but what was available was nice. You can book the Italian restaurant but it is just buffet self service so nothing special. We were half board so we paid for lunch a couple of days at the pool bar, it was excellent and not too pricey for hotel food. The drinks on the other hand were a bit on the expensive side. There are plenty of nice restaurants in the main town. All of the staff were very attentive around the hotel. Reception were helpful but a little more information at check in would have been useful. You can get towels for the pool from reception which we weren’t told about. You can order a breakfast to go from reception if you’re out early which we did a couple of days. The location of the hotel is up a very steep hill, we walked it every day. You can carry on going up the hill from the hotel and it comes to a waterfall. There are some great walks in the area and would highly recommended exploring them. There is also a little supermarket further up from the hotel, only a couple of minutes walk which was very useful. There was a shuttle bus from the hotel to and from the main area, I think it was €2.50 pp each way that went a few times each day. We didn’t feel the need to use it but those that are less active might find it useful. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel if you have mobility issues. Overall it was a pleasant stay and for the price we paid (compared to other hotels in the area) it was worth it. The views from the hotel are stunning so worth the hike up the hill!"

"We stayed at this hotel in April 2025, drawn in by listings that advertised multiple pools and a spa—amenities that were clearly a deciding factor for us. Unfortunately, it turned out that all but one pool, and the entire spa, were closed during our stay—a fact that was only disclosed after booking in the fine print. When we tried to cancel, the hotel refused. The buffet was low quality with limited variety. Drinks were awful—off-brand sodas pretending to be Coke and Fanta, and sugary juice that didn’t seem to contain any real juice. The so-called "Italian restaurant" was just a small café serving ham and cheese toast—no real food selection at all. There was a strong, awkward feeling of being constantly watched by staff, even for trivial things like refilling water bottles. The hotel also felt overstaffed given the guest count. The playground was in disrepair and dangerous, with slipping trampoline pads and a teeter-totter missing safety features. On a positive note, the rooms were clean, and Luna at the front desk was genuinely kind and helpful—a rare bright spot in an otherwise disappointing experience. We ended up leaving the hotel early due to the overall poor experience. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to families or anyone expecting a relaxing, resort-like stay. Unless major changes are made, it’s best to look elsewhere."
