"Number one , this was not worth the stars awarded. Our room was quite old fashioned and needed updating badly We knew it was outside of the historic district in the centre but it was convenient for the airport The bathroom had been refurbished and was nice but as I say definitely didn’t match the room However this was not why I gave it a poor rating While there the staff were nice and I couldn’t complain as they order taxis for us and so on The disappointment happened when I arrived back to Ireland We had a very early morning flight and I was back at my home at about 12 midday and when I unpacked I noticed that I had foolishly left a very precious photograph behind me in the room. It was the same colour as the dresser the packaging so it was a complete accident I immediately rang the hotel spoke to the reception and they confirmed that. Yes they had found my very precious photo. I was delighted I asked if I could arrange for it to be sent and I would pay for postage which was just an A4 size envelope. She said to email my contact details which I did immediately and I got quite a sharp email back saying we cannot send this to you. I emailed back saying I was shocked and this was very disappointing. I had no way of collecting it as I had left the country . Then she sent Ana a link for DHL and I looked into that and it was costing €80 for the courier service and I could not afford that I then proceeded to ask could he or she please at least take a few photos of my precious photograph so that I could get it printed Which she/he did Overall I am extremely disappointed as we had spent money in this hotel. I think it’s extremely bad customer service. I know through the years if anything is left in a hotel once payment was taken over the phone the item would be sent to no problem. This was only an envelope, not even a package it contained one photograph . I know it was my fault for leaving it, but I just think on a human level if it had been me, I would have sent the photo as it was truly an extremely important photo myself and my son had taken and paid quite a lot of money for"

"Was in room end of corridor right next to building work. Terrible noise from 8am, the walls were actually shaking. Could not even have a conversation in the room. Complained at checkout. The attitude was ‘not our problem’. No discount offered. Manager name is Roberto for other people’s information. They should not be selling rooms anywhere near to building works. Beware, do not stay at this hotel!!"

"Unfortunately I would not recommend this as a 4 star hotel. It is most definitely more like a 3 star. The staff are friendly, breakfast staff especially nice, however, I would not say the staff are providing anytjing close to 4 star experience. Our room on the ground floor was by the main road so vert noisy with constant traffic, a lot of ambulance sirens. We could only sleep using ear plugs (not provided, we had to buy from a Pisa pharmacy on night #2). The rooms are particularly hot/stuffy, no aircon during winter months and we were told to open the window and put the mosquito plug on. Less than ideal! The choice of breakfast is ok. Not that wide a variety. The fresh honeycomb was the best part about breakfast and our stay, delicious and a pleasant surprise! The shower was mouldy around the base and the shower head itself pink mould. Hotel felt extremely dated, so we definitely were not in a renovated one as some reviews we read before staying suggested. It has free parking which is largely why we chose it and was a big plus. We didn't mind the 2km walk to town and back."
