Grand Hotel Flora

"Great product but one star team. Not worth the price based on: - it's like buying business class ticket but charged for wine on the flight (we asked for fried egg at breakfast and were charged - that's why - paid euro 500 per night and hotel being so petty), stayed In Hilton Rome and paid lesser than this and yet they went out of their way to take care. Then 1/4 of the time the elevator was not working. On top of that, came back to the hotel near midnight - took a shower then saw a dirty spot on the towel, had to use it but when complained about it, the night manager said that we should have checked the towel before using (now it's used and wet how can they verify?????). What non sense. Don't think the GM of the hotel has gotten the grip on the property. Very sad. Our advice, if pay Euro 500 on average a night, go somewhere else cheaper and settle for older room."

"Well sadly we can't comment on the apparently renovated rooms or wonderful quiet pool or sea views as we spent 7 nights in what must be the old part or possibly the original part of the hotel in a room overlooking the main busy noisy road no pleasure sitting on the balcony the room was basic and clean small tv that if you wanted to watch you had to move the chair away from it no coffee tea facilities but did get a kettle when I asked reception for one which we had to plug in the bathroom as there are no spare sockets. Breakfast was acceptable although needed refilling more often staff were pleasant and hot drink was brought to your table. Pool is very big but very cold and plenty sunbeds around it but no umbrellas. Hotel is ideal fir walking into the main square etc and has a fab little restaurant next door Cucina gets busy but worth the wait. Maybe if we had been in the new part our experience would have been better 🤔"

"Stayed here recently for 7 nights . The hotel has undergone serious refurbishment so none of the pictures reflect the true hotel which has obviously been renovated to a very high standard throughout. We had a room on the second floor overlooking the pool and it was stunning. Very modern with brilliant AC to keep the room cool and a lovely balcony to sit put on and enjoy the views . Only small criticism we had was with the breakfast. For some reason the waiter takes your coffee order and serves it to you at the table. We found like others around us that the coffees where coming out cool with no way of adding hot water to them. We like others asked for the coffees to be made extra hot but still only received lukewarm coffees. There should be a coffee station as part of the buffet even just for americanos but the system seems to be that you have to ask for hot drinks. The food itself was a selection of 6 hot items which where often cold or lukewarm even if you where one of the first down and we only really used the buffet if we where heading out for the day on a tour. Another small criticism we had was the pool area had no umbrellas or shade except for one orange tree !! . Maybe later on in the season they have umbrellas out but it was in the high 20’s deg when we where there so an umbrella would have been welcome. All in all we had a great stay at the hotel the location is perfect and the hotel itself is stunning and we wouldn’t hesitate about booking it again if we ever returned to Sorrento"
