Palazzo Niccolini Al Duomo

"If you’re in to staying at an authentic Old World Palace then this small hotel is the ticket. Sitting literally right next to and with views from our room of the Duomo, it is the epitome of location, location! Additionally, easy walks to the Uffizi and Accademia. Furnished with antiques and some opulence that you won’t have in a modern hotel, we had a gorgeous painted ceiling and some trome-l’oeil scenes in our bathroom walls that were masterpieces of technique. The hotel is well managed with a warm front desk staff and they were accommodating of our early morning tour and departure for breakfast. The internet worked, the AC cooled and the shower was hot. For a building that is literally hundreds of years old then you have the old ambience that is modernized just enough to be perfect. For its size (15 rooms), a surprisingly nice breakfast is served in what we would call the Grand Salon. Literally just outside you have the shops and restaurants to wander during the day and evening that is so typical of Florence."

"Truly unforgettable stay in every way. We split our stay in Florence. 3 nights in a Junior Suite adorned with frescoes back again a week later for 6 nights in a brand new Double Deluxe room with a bell tower to our right and corner of the Duomo to our left. Each room so different it was fun to experience both. But it is the staff who made our stay so special. Welcoming and helpful in every way from dinner reservations to arranging a drive through Tuscany. The sumptuous breakfast was amazing. Instead of rushing out to see the sights we found ourselves lingering a bit longer to enjoy this special place together. Was nice to be able to stop back in the afternoon for tea and a rest before dinner. So close to everything yet felt like a private oasis or rather a step back in time. It is afterall a former palace. So a big thank you to each staff member and to the family who have so lovingly restored this palace to give us such a memorable experience."

"The amazing charm of the Palazzo Niccolini al Duomo is immeasurable. Our recent stay in one of their junior suites was fantastic. Located just 50 yards from the Duomo, this hotel sits in the heart of Florence, without having to listen to the noise of the crowds. Our room was adorned from the ceiling to the side walls with murals that made you feel like you were staying in Renaissance Italy. Everything about our room was first class and the bathroom was very spacious too. Each morning, we had a scrumptious breakfast served in the main dining room that helped to fuel our busy days exploring and touring. This ideal location was also extremely convenient to all of the many delicious restaurants around Florence. I would definitely plan to stay at the Palazzo Niccolini al Duomo again on every visit to the Florence area."
