easyHotel Rotterdam City Centre

"First the good stuff - this hotel was much cheaper than other hotels in this area. Also the location is excellent, loads of bars, shops, restaurants, main tram stop etc. all within walking distance. But it is cheap for a reason. Left luggage, a cup of tea,.....is all charged as an extra. The room itself was perfectly clean and the beds were comfortable, but the lobby areas were not so good and smelled quite musty. We were on one of the top floors but even so the glazing is such that you could hear all the traffic and music from bars at night - it was pretty noisy. The sink was too small to re-fill a water bottle from the tap which annoyed me. Lastly, this sounds odd but this hotel always had a lot of presumably longer term guests hanging around outside, dressed in loungewear, smoking and chatting outside. It gave the place a rather untidy and unwelcoming feel."

"I found a live bedbug in my bed at 3am halfway through my stay at easyHotel Rotterdam. I got a member of staff and showed it to him. He photographed it then I smashed it and he took the body. I was not offered an alternative room for the night because “the hotel is full.” I was told the manager would arrive in the morning and the situation could be rectified then. I actually had to wait approximately 15 hours in the stairwell before the manager came in. The manager was antagonistic and unhelpful. I requested a refund for the days remaining in my stay and was denied."

"I attended a conference in Rotterdam and needed a budget hotel. This place was fine. It was clean and met all my needs. The room was a bit older than depicted in the photos, but still realistic. The staff were helpful, the location was excellent - 10 min walk to deDoelen and 19 walk to Centraal train station. My only complaint was that the tea and coffee in the lobby wasn't complimentary, you had to pay per cup. But, I knew this in advance and brought a travel kettle. There's an Albert Hejin grocery right across the street where you can buy coffee/tea, etc., so it is no problem as long as you do your research beforehand. There's a very good cafe (Baker & Moore) on the same block where you can get breakfast."
