Savoy Hotel Rotterdam

"A perfect stay. Our room on the 6th floor was a decent size with a very comfortable bed and two chairs for relaxation. This was accompanied by a good size bathroom with large walk in shower. Plenty of space in the room for cases etc. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There was good selection of hot and cold foods for breakfast that were constantly topped up. Everywhere was kept clean and tidy and there is a secure area where luggage can be left should you arrive before checkin or want to go exploring after checking out. This hotel has 7 floors and is in a very quiet location, yet only a few minutes walk from Blaak train station, with local and inter city connections across Holland including direct services to Schipol airport and Rotterdam central for Eurostar connections (One stop away). Blaak tram and underground stations also ajoin the train station. A number of Rotterdams main sights such as the Laurenskerk, cubic houses and market hall are also just short walk away. In fact most sight seeing places are within walking distance, including boat trips to the windmills at kinderdijk. There are loads of places to eat or drink in the surrounding area. We had a great time in Rotterdam/Holland and would definitely recommend this hotel"

"Would not recommend. The first room we were given had a horrendous smell on entry and we had to ask for a different room. Second room had hairs in the bed. We were woken up around 7am by furniture being moved above our room on the first floor - it continued for hours. Luckily we only stayed here for one night. Location was very close to cube houses and Markthal. Easy to get to by tram from the Eurostar station. These were the only advantages."

"We stayed for a long weekend in May, and traveled around. When we arrived we discovered that what we thought was a double bed was in fact two beds with a thin mattress over. Not ideal. We asked if it was possible to change to a room with a different bed. It certainly was, and they switched rooms for us while we where out. The bed was much better, and the room was a little bigger. In addition we got free breakfast as a compensation. The people in the reception were very hospitable. We felt welcome here. The location is great, and the possibility to sit outside with a coffee was appreciated. The juice at breakfast could have been more fresh, but apart from that the selection of food was good, and it was a nice breakfast area. All in all a very nice experience, and we can definitely recommend staying in this hotel."
